Please explain how this is a bad thing. Your comment leads one to believe that this is a frivolous matter.

M fans are massively jealous of Ohio State's massive success.
I can't speak for all Michigan fans, but there is not a single thing in the entire state of OlieO that makes me jealous of anything that comes from there.

Try to sift through to find the occasional useful tidbits, until they can be replaced by a classy Ohio fans (all 1 or 2 of them).
We used to have one. Paul S is probably the classiest Ohio fan that I have met. I think all the guys in here who have met Paul (there are a few of us) I think they would all agree. I wish he'd come back. I speak to him on Face Book all the time. He's a class act, and a good friend.

There was another guy named "Heater". He was an active duty Air Force man, who contributed here all the time. Great guy, he could dish out the smack talk, and he could take it. I miss him too.

      • DSL, like most, enjoys feeling superior to others, and there's no better group of dimwits for that than this collection. They're so asshurt over FLAGSHIP dominance that FACTS and REALITY are an afterthought.

I've seen M fans assert that Hoke=Saban and that Ohio State didn't win the Leaders Division amongst other completely xxxxxxx arguments, statements and assertions.

        • People leave this forum because they don't like wading through the nonsense.

To me, that's part of football fan rivalry and it is exactly why this thread is in this forum ..... aside from the sometimes useful information posted by the two rivals who do post here regularly.

I don't think any of what we see here is over the top. All you have to do is take a look around various football forums to see how bad bad really is. This is not bad. The repartee is actually rather entertaining.

I've said this before. In a duel between gentlemen, the true ones and the one's who were the better marksmen, would aim to let the ball whistle past the opponent's ear just to let them know, further affronts would have a different but terrible result.

talent tends to take his best shot, aiming to strike his opponent right between the eyes, with his first one. That tells me, if you want to duel in this particular thread, you may want to be the better marksman, so to speak, when you post what could be seen as an affront to osu football here.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

          • This is a tame thread. And, as I've said before, I'm happy to use this thread as an actual discussion thread re OSU, but there's next to zero interest. And, as you've proclaimed, this is a "smack" thread or something like that.

I'll continue to post OSU-related tidbits as they come up, but by and large I assume I'll be wading through a bunch of pictures that have nothing to do with football or a wall of text from Buchanan that more or less amounts to "F OSU". Heh.

Also, I more often than not refrain from slapping around moronic crap on other threads.

I'm interested and I think, by and large, there are others here who are also interested in osu football news from those of you osu fans who past here that read it and can pass the important stuff on.

As to the former, I encourage it; to the later, well, yes, you are in a Michigan forum after all. Enter with the expectation that you are going to be faced with a load every time you do.

              • I read the Nebraska discussion and look forward to updates about the University of Nebraska, it would be nice to hear the same from fans of Sparty, PSU, Illini, etc. too.

This ...... I read it too.

Sure, and talent, dsl are the same kinds of personalities as E, Wiz and Hoss. Got it.

TBF, there really is no bad blood between Neb and M fans ....... except for that isolated crying bullshit in 1997/8 that got neb an undeserved share of the NC ..... like there is between M and osu fans.

Woah, Tex...I'm fairly certain I could find several posts from you about how this is a thread to trash OSU and informational stuff is tangential, etc. I know I can. Not that I care one way or the other -- well, actually, that's not true, I'd lean toward more information/discussion based.

Gads of moronic shit out there. And tons of flames. I generally leave WM's recruiting thread alone despite consistent flames about UFM and OSU. I generally leave the hoops thread for fair discussion. And don't typically wade into the M Football thread much other than, to, e.g., point out that Shane may not redshit given QB situation. You know, correct M fans about their own team.

Anyway, I'm always happy to post updates on OSU, roster movement, recruiting targets, etc. I can tell you, firsthand, it's a fruitless endeavor.

                      • I like this take:

In all seriousness, .. I would be more concerned had OlieO found a way to bring in someone like Steve Spurrier. The OBC in Columbus running the "fun and gun", and his free-wheeling style of ball would have been very difficult to deal with.

Meyer is bringing in a re-styled spread offense a-la Rich Rodriguez. No need to discuss that.

And as long as you continue to assert that OlieO is the "flagship" of the B1G, you'll be countered on it any way I choose. Sometimes you OlieO folks need to see illustrations of your silly assertions, so I accommodate your need.

Stating that OlieO is the "flagship" of the B1G is akin to Bob Jones University claiming to be a bastion of liberalism. It doesn't fit, in any way, shape or form.

He had that at Florida, and had two of the best offensive players in CFB running it (Teebone and Harvin) yet the lowly and on-his-way-out Lloyd Carr found a way to beat it.

And this, .. he intends to use to dominate Michigan for the next quarter century....

                            Yep.

                              • Interesting, WM. Florida only scored 35 on M. BTW, do you recall how that terrible Florida team that couldn't beat M's 10th best team did the next season?

UFM has won more national titles and had more undefeated seasons in the past 10 seasons and than M has in the past 60. But some M fans would be more afraid of Steve Spurrier at OSU.

It's just too funny to watch the hamster spin in the heads of M fans.
