Yea 2001 Miami was incredible. They basically DESTROYED everyone on their schedule except for @ Va Tech (That V-Tech team was good).
Andre Johnson, Sean Taylor, Kellen Winslow II, Bryant McKinnie, Antrel Rolle, Jonathan Vilma, Jeremy Shockey, Jerome McDougle, Phlip Buchanon, Vernon Carey, Vince Wilfork, Ed Reed, Rocky McIntosh, Clinton Portis, Roscoe Parrish, Frank Gore, Najeh Davenport... wow
Even though 2005 USC lost in the championship game, I think they are the best college football team I've ever seen. Kind of like the 2007 16-1 NE Patriots.
They lost a VERY close game to a 13-0 Texas team. ... but still, the dominance of that offense and all the talent on that USC defense.
2001 Miami was loaded. I was never as high on 2005 USC.. great players, but they never had that edge of crushing opponents. jmo, of course.

it is also a long season... espn will love talking about the greatest ever (they do it in basketball all the time).. The team will need to stay focused. It's tough winning back to back.

The 2001 Miami team didn't really play anyone. Not even in the title game. They were pushed to the edge by BC and the VT game was close. In retrospect, the talent on that team was out of control, but I'm not sure their actual performance was the greatest.
I'd still take 1995 UNL for the greatest single season. They beat some pretty good teams in the regular season and then throttled a pretty good Florida team. They basically throttled everyone. Average score was 53-14.
I don't really care a lick about all of that. I just want them to get back to the CFP and see what happens. If they're lucky enough to win it again then "back-to-back" is all that matters.
I will say this is "dream" stuff. I never thought I'd see an Ohio State team this good. With Tressel they were, obviously, very good, but I would have been really nervous about last night. Last night it was pretty much, yeah, we have UFM and talent out the ass. They're not losing.
Also re Tressel-UFM, guys who covered both teams have observed that with Tressel's teams there were always 10-15 kids that you wondered how they were playing for Ohio State. With UFM's teams, nearly ever kid looks like he could start for Ohio State.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]? Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.
To state the obvious, Sparty needs Cook to be off the chain good in that game. Under normal November conditions, I have a hard time seeing OSU scoring less than 31 in that game.

I hope it doesn't come to that, Cook is a good QB, I don't think he can dominate a game in the way you are describing. I hope the Spartans can get there undefeated but that is going to be tough starting Saturday.
I'm not exactly sure how MSU won't need to score a lot of points to win. Even when they played 2 years ago when MSU's defense was fantastic and OSU's offense less fully developed, OSU still scored 24. Last year it was an easy 49. I think MSU will need to score a bunch -- or force a bunch of turnovers.
Ohio State has two QBs on is roster than finished in the top 5 for the Heisman, and neither of them start!

After Monday night's highlight reel against Virginia Tech, it's clear Ohio State is a preposterous gathering of talent, and you should watch every minute.
