          • I've been to The Shoe, it's harmless. Thomas Jefferson had an interesting take on the right of self-defense, wonder how he'd feel today?

"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walk."

              • Jefferson lived in a time where you might be attacked by a bear driving your horse-wagon into town. His gun was also just a little bit different than a semi-automatic with an extended clip too.

I will say it again, there is NO sane reason for ANYONE to have a gun at a sporting event other than the cops. NONE. The need to pack heat at all time is psychotic.

You want to bring one along and have it in your car? Fine. Leave it there. It has no business in a crowded stadium. Even if you have no intent of using it, I don't trust you to be able to keep someone else from taking it from you and using it. There are too many drunk idiots at sporting events to have firearms around.

                • I don't think even armed cops should be allowed in sporting stadiums, unless they're out of sight. I forget which game it was last year, but it was one of those "threat elevated to orange" days of paranoia. There were cops inside the stadium with full auto M-16s and tactical vests with 8 thirty round magazines. The last thing I want is ANYONE, private citizen or law enforcement, opening up with that kind of firepower in a stadium of 100,000+ people. I'm sorry to say this, but the terrorists have won. They (and our holier than thou politicians) have changed the fabric of our nation, and none for the good. Every time you hear some moron say "thats pre-9/11 thinking", he means "we need to get back into surrender mode and let us politicians/law enforcement run every aspect of your life". Real Americans don't cower. Real Americans shouldn't have let gov't roll back our civil liberties. But what America has done is let cave dwelling subhumans change our way of life. I like 'pre 9/11' America. Its what our forefathers fought for. We shouldn't have given that way of life up simply because some stupid assed politicians what to show how 'tough' they are in the so-called war on terror.

What gets lost in all of this is that we have the right to do many things but the responsibility not to do them. Pack heat at a sporting venue? If you feel the need for that, then don't go. What the hell is the matter with people?

I practice Tang Soo Doo and can legally carry firearm. I can handle most situations without law enforcement. But I would much, much rather avoid an unsafe situation. The day I feel I need to tote my hand-cannon to Michigan Stadium is the year I forever give up my season tickets.

As far as osu stadium goes, however, I think a neutron bomb should be buried on the 50 yard line and an EASY button placed at every row.

                  • Yeah it's one thing to have a firearm in your home, in your car, or to protect your store. But in a stadium? Makes no sense.

                    • Yeah, I'm not arguing against people having guns. But how the hell are you ever going to fire a gun at a sporting event without recklessly endangering tons of people? I can't think of a single situation where you could ever get a clear shot at anyone or anything without danger of killing an innocent bystander.

If there is really a situation in a stadium that requires subduing someone with a firearm, get the hell out of the way and let the cops take care of it.

                      • looks like the Bucks may get acquitted regarding the car deals:

After my previous report that there would be further violations surfacing regarding investigation into the Ohio State Football Program, several other sources have confirmed that to be the case...

                          • Actually, it sounds like tax fraud, but that would be on the dealership, not on Gibson.

                            • Let's see if I have this right... if you cheat and then lie to cover up your cheating and lying and then, when you are caught, admit that you cheat and lie this is "getting out in front" and a reason for leniency.
