My thoughts exactly. His sportsmanship plus $5 will get him a pumpkin spice latte at a reputable coffee chain.

        • TCU or Ohio State in the playoffs... Hmmm

          • I would have it this way(assuming current scores hold):

            1)Alabama

            2)Oregon

            3)Florida State

            4)Ohio State

I think Ohio State's defense is better than either TCU's or Baylor's, and I think tonight's result so far demonstrates that Ohio State is not hobbled by the loss of a Heisman candidate at QB(which is just extraordinary). Whatever happens, as much as I detest saying it, Urban Meyer might have done the best job of his career with this Ohio State team, and tonight's performance has just been a masterpiece.

            • TCU is NOT a conference champion, since they were beat by Baylor.
The committee must do their job and put a conference champion in the playoff.

Maybe the big 12 will have a championship game next year.

              • The committee must do their job and select the top four teams in the country.

                  • That is fine.

Thankfully the Selection Committee doesn't smoke crack.

                        • Alabama, Oregon, and Florida State are in. I don't know how you make a rational decision on #4 this year. Ohio State's put up the most impressive final performance, but TCU and Baylor have nothing to apologize for on that score. Yes, Baylor beat TCU, but that game was essentially a draw that was decided when Baylor got the pass interference penalty that TCU didn't get on 4th down at midfield on their previous possession. TCU beat a better team out-of-conference than anyone Baylor played, but Ohio State beat a nine-win Cincinnati team and a bowl-bound Navy team OOC. Ohio State's two-touchdown loss to 6-6 VT is weaker than Baylor's two-touchdown loss at 7-5 West Virginia, but even that has more to it-- the VT team that won in Columbus got crippled by injuries in the weeks following that game. I think Ohio State is the most well-rounded of the three teams, but I very well could be wrong.

In any case, year one of the playoff system will dispel the silly idea that a four-team playoff was going to end postseason controversy at the FBS level. Two teams that absolutely deserve to be in a national championship tournament are going to be left out.

                          • ESPN and the media in general sound like they are on our side. I imagine some of that is cynical financial considerations...we are indubitably a bigger draw than TCU or Baylor.

                            • Random fact: this was the most points a Wisconsin team has given up since losing to Indiana in 2001. Also the first time Wisconsin has been shut out since 1997
