Please support the Forum by using the Amazon Link this Holiday Season
Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.
Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.
If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!
Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.
Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

Blog site from mark titus, a former b-ball player from o-lie-o. About 2-3 paragraphs down talks about comparing the football players with b-ball players on campus during his time. Didn't know if I should put this in the big ten thread regarding stipends or this one.

From Geo's link, in the comments section. My favorite part is when the writer notes that he``gratuated top 10% of my class''.
Im an proud graduate(1999) of The Ohio State University and I must say I don't agree the NCAA will find anything out. So a few player's got discounts on cars? While, alot of people get discounts on cars. So what.
You should be proud of the University you gratuated from and not be so sarcastic on them. I love The Ohio State University and I would never say anything remotly bad about my University. I hope you will consider doing the same thing.
Us gratuates have to stick together. Alot of other programs look the other way when things like this happen so its not like we are any diffrently then other programs it just so happens we got caught with are pants down so to speak.
I will always be proud of my acomplishments at OSU(gratuated top 10% of my class) and I hope you always will to.

What Mr. "I Graduated Top 10% Of My Class" needs to ask himself is, could Math major Suzy Sophomore walk into the same car dealer and get the same "discount" on a $40,000 car, that Terrelle Pryor got?
My guess is ... mmmmm.. no."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"

After reading that comment, I feel better about UNL competing academically in the Big ten. :-)Grammar... The difference between feeling your nuts and feeling you're nuts.

The "everybody does it, but we got caught" defense.
Priceless.
I don't have a college degree, but to my pea-sized brain, wouldn't a "Ten-Percenter" actually hope that his alma-mater was above reproach? Seems to me, that much more pride could be taken in ones university if they could look at them, and know that they pride themselves on how strictly they follow the rules.
I mean, isn't that the message that Saint Jim brought with him from Youngstown State? Pride in the program?
A "Ten-percenter" is reduced to being proud that his university "got caught with their pants down"?"The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"

Latest rumor per MGoBlog is that the SI story on OSU is dropping by the end of the month. It was apparently done by the same guy who brought down the Minnesota Basketball program when they had their academic fraud issues. Apparently the article may detail issues with Tressel that go back to his YSU days.
There were additional rumors as to the details of the article, but as I don't trust people who claim to know specifics, I won't repeat them. If the first rumor is right the story will be here in about 7 days anyway. If the rumors about the story content are right, not only will Tressel never coach again anywhere, but OSU could end up being the biggest NCAA violator since SMU.
There is also the possibility that the issues may not be restricted to the football program either.
