  • Now I would agree, not so hyperbolic as it seemed. Still think they will figure it out, but they definitely can't get out of their own way on offense. And there's no DT to bail them out this year.

    • Don't know if Matta has lost this team or what. Amazing how bad they have gotten. Need home wins over Illinois & PSU just to get back to .500

      • I don't understand how it was considered a good team to start.

        • With that done, I can now turn my attention entirely to recruiting while I wait for football season and then the arrival of D'Angelo Russell & Crew. I can also follow along with fingers crossed for Carlton Bragg and Luke Kennard. F'n Calipari.

Quick survey of Ohio recruits: 76 kids from Ohio have committed to "BCS Program" schools. I have a hard time including UC in that list, but I did. About 10-12 of them are UC commits.

WRT Ohio State, UFM basically took the top kids plus OL, including a backup plan or two.

          • Sounds awfully short-sighted to me, but that's an Ohioan for you. OSU will be fine. I didn't think they were a conference contender this year, and they probably won't contend, but I'm sure Matta will right the ship and have a decent showing in the end.

            • The ship has sunk. It's now a matter of whether the life rafts can find dry land. The more important point is that they are unwatchable. For a third straight game a team shot over 50% against them. THREE IN A ROW. Lenzelle Smith is the only player who doesn't show visible angst when he tries to score, and he's the one player who should.

In retrospect, that missed layup by Scott at the end of the MSU game was tragic. The high point of the season was him breaking away for what should have been an improbable comeback win in EL. And oddly enough, in retropsect, M is probably going to wish he made that layup more than OSU.

Oh well. They still have an outside shot at making the tournament.

              • Come along now. Are you saying Matta isn't a good enough coach to stabilise things? He did get that performance out of them in EL. Frankly, given the amount of talent on that team and the Big Ten conference schedule a top-25 finish is a serious accomplishment. A top-3 ranking was ridiculous in the first place. But, if it's really as you say it is, then I look forward to Michigan driving another nail into the coffin Feb. 11 at Cheater City Arena.

                • Would be nice, but Beilien has never won there.

                  • He'd never won at Kohl either. Lotta trends being broken under JB.

It seems pretty apparent ( to me, anyway) , Matta's deal with the devil must have expired in early January. Wonder when Urban's deal with Satan ends...

                            • Say what you will bout being a Schmuck, but I'm REALLY cheering for Oden to make it back. Been through a lot.

                              • I always liked Oden. Seems like a genuinely good guy. He had all-star talent and, unfortunately, Over 50 Jewish Rec league legs.

                                However, F the Heat.
