Baylor jumps OSU; 'Bama keeps rolling in AP poll

Baylor overtook Ohio State in The Associated Press college football poll and Alabama became just the seventh team to hold the No. 1 ranking for 13 straight polls in a season.

The third-ranked Bears slipped ahead of the fourth-ranked Buckeyes after Baylor beat Texas Tech 60-34 and Ohio State won 60-35 at Illinois on Saturday. Baylor has 1,351 points and Ohio State has 1,343.

Alabama remained No. 1, with 55 first-place votes from the media poll released Sunday. No. 2 Florida State has five first-place votes.

Oregon was fifth and Auburn was sixth.

Baylor has Oklahoma State, TCU & Texas left. Pretty sure they've got a loss in them and Ohio even with the CCG doesn't have enough quality teams left to stay ahead of them if they both win out.

I reckon that's the likely outcome, but don't weep for Ohio State, WM. Winning 25 in a row and the B10 title and then getting a chance to play in the 100th Rose Bowl is an acceptable outcome. Throw in a third consecutive recruiting class that is best in the B10 and elite nationally, and I'm ok with where the program is.

And, of course, Matta and his boys keep on trucking.

Opportunity is there to jump them right back in the final week with a big win over a potential Top 10 team.
