Hey I'm just glad you guys are going to be here for the long-term, and projecting realisting things like ``we're not gonna lose to UM''. That's great that you're not setting yourself up for disappointment. I'm looking forward to enjoying what comes our way as Michigan fans.

The problem for M is that OP was absolutely correct when he said:
If Tressel's departure only serves to open the door for Urban Meyer, I will be totally pissed. Fickell must have moderate "Rich Rod" success as the new HC in order to tie OSU's hands for 3 years or so...... If in the end if it only meant trading Tressel for Meyer (best coach in the game) the Big Ten is gonna take a beating!
The facts DO NOT matter here.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Talent's creative writing segment is in full bloom today.
For the record, I was duped by UM as were most Floridians, a man that medically and emotionally was shattered I truly wished him well at the time, saw no need to smack the crap out of him.
After all I just met him in Boca Raton on FAU campus while he prepared to play Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl. Although I witnessed a few recruiting violations at that time by Urbie, I naive and only wish now that I had stepped in to stand up for and perhaps save some of the kids that UM was about to befoul.
I am going to have to live with that.
Now that most of the facts concerning his dubious tenures at U of F and now OSU have become common knowledge, I'm an advocate and will never shy away from exposing the truth about the unsavory Meyer.Last edited by Optimus Prime; July 29, 2013, 09:23 AM.?I don?t take vacations. No question about it -- to those of us with a shred of decency OSU trading up from a cheater with a regional footprint to one with a national footprint smacks of injustice. Meyer is one of the best football coaches out there and is without question at this point superior to Hoke. That's why Meyer has a win against Michigan already -- Hoke's idiot OC forgetting the very basics and crafting a truly stupid game plan that failed in a very tight contest. Meyer is too competitive to hire and then live with that kind of coordinator.
We know you are going to get your wins against us. We also know, because we aren't lunatics disconnected from reality, that we'll get ours too. Ours will be sweeter because we'll have done it fair and square, and there's much more joy in a legitimate victory. (You wouldn't know. It's been probably about 15 years since you enjoyed one.) But LOL at how you are ratcheting up expectations to compensate. It would simply be terrible for you to lose to Michigan when everyone knows you cheat and we don't. So here you clowns are trying to convince yourself that you aren't gonna lose. Ultimately however it's Jimmys and Joes and not Xs and Os. You're gonna have quite a few Jimmys and Joes and so are we. The difference is that eventually you're going to get smacked for the way you get them to come play for you and we won't. Again -- for the latest on Michigan's recruiting you can visit the threat here and see how we're doing.
Let's put some predictions out there. My bet is that Meyer's tenure lasts 7 years and he goes 4-3 against Michigan in that time. I reserve judgement but I'm betting Borges gives away at least one more with one of his too-clever-by-half gameplans. For posterity however the question is the timing of those wins, to determine how many will be vacated. Depending on that Urban's OSU record against Michigan will end up at either either 3-3 or 2-3.

Which is gonna work well for us. We don't have pedotweeters.
Agreed -- all questions of morality aside, I'd rather set myself up for disappointment then rationalize disappointments to come. We've both seen that on this board. We're both old enough, however, to know that there's an ebb and flow to these things. We pounded your sorry asses for a decade, which is why your programme turned to a known cheater. You had to cheat to reverse the trend, and you had to take advantage of Lloyd going soft and thinking more about the cost of victories than how to achieve them. Thus far you've vacated one loss from that experience, and more may come. So we had our decade and you had yours. We won without cheating, you haven't. When's the last time you beat us without cheating? Probably it's getting close to 25 years now. But you had your decade, whether you recognize it as an empty achievement or not. Now it's looking like both teams are gearing up for a decade in which there will be no easy wins. Major risks to sustainability on our end is summed up by a succession plan for Mattison, and there's a potential ceiling on success based on the fanbase's ability to lie to itself about Borges, who is likely to give away a game or two a year. Major risks to your sustainability include Urban's doctor, so to speak, but no ceiling thanks to Urban being very clear-headed about the limits of professional loyalty.
It'll be interesting to see what happens next for you. For better or worse, Bo's lasting impact is a process which more or less give the program its identity. That hurts sometimes but it helps a lot too. Hard not to assume that some of the good things are what attracts recruits, cause lord knows the elite ones are foregoing significant income opportunities by choosing Michigan. OSU, however, has no process and no identity as a program. Leads to room for more variance.Last edited by hack; July 29, 2013, 09:53 AM.

At least when OP trolls, there's no pretense. You and Buchanan and your wall of flame. Dull. OP gets to the same spot with a daft YouTube video or link. I, at least, appreciate his efficiency.

Clearly spent his formative years locked in a closet.
Unlike Meyer and sadly it now appears Talent as well at least Saban is honest about it.

talent, you know the problem for osu is one of perceptions. The facts don't matter not because those facts might produce a rational story but because perceptions of a particular situation are wholly dependent on how the story is being told by whomever is reporting it.
For example, Hoke and Michigan are in the sports news because Hoke just gave an ohio kid with brain cancer who named his cancer Michigan free football tickets and wished him a speedy recovery. Meanwhile, ufm is explaining why he's soft on disciplining his football players and why Hernandez is a thug and accused murderer.
Sucks to be osu. I don't think this has anything to do with osu and ufm winning. It has everything to do with the suspicion that ufm lacks integrity, that former coach tressel is a liar and that the osu administration, from the top down, will do anything, right or wrong, to win or gain the upper hand.
osu fans had it made when tressel showed up to reverse what had been a decade of ebarrassment for osu at the hands of Michigan. Most observers now have a pretty good idea of why osu dominated during that period and its nothing favorable. When Carr retired and Rodriguez showed up, there followed another painful 3 year stretch and his total mismanagement of M's football operations has ramifications even today.
But the perceived shitty reality, factual support for it or not, is what osu fans have to deal with. The good news for Michigan is that Brady Hoke is doing everything right for M football. There's a fair chance that, going forward, the football universe will return to its natural state and the perceived reality that osu is a loser will be fortified by the facts that it is.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
