  • We're underdogs against NW? I'll take that one all day. I'm not feeling the Northwestern love at all.

    • OSU only -17 at Purdue seem off to me too. Purdue sucks.

      • I like all of the M lines except against Ohio State. Heh.

They're slightly undervalued, but that's mostly because no one is going to credit Gardner much. If he's good, then the lines are a steal. If he's mediocre, they're about right.

        • Gardner won't be mediocre. He's pretty much a proven commodity at this point.

The offensive line is what is going to make or break us.

          • I read on Rivals that they figured if Gardner can average 230 yds passing per game, he'll go over 3,000 on the year. I think that's attainable.

Then, if between the RB's, they can rush for an additional 1500 - 2000, we'll be right in the thick of the B1G race.

That, along with even a modestly improving defense would put us in Indianapolis, with a shot at the Rose Bowl.

and more specifically the center. Kalis or Gruden are going to be good ... not sure about Miller or whoever else ends up winning the Center spot -- given their responsibility for making the line calls, etc

              • And his receivers ability to catch his passes. Lots of M lines I'd take, especially UConn who look really awful to me.

Well, at least to my eyes, he proved he was mediocre.

On hoops front, 2014 class continues to take shape.

                  • He was just a junior last season, this season he'll just be a redshirt junior.

                    • I understand. I just don't think that he's proven shit. Personally, I think he will improve. But I don't look at what he did in 2012 and think "money in the bank". He was meh last season. He didn't play many games -- had good ones against two shit teams and meh against the others. He was totally mismanaged in a total clusterfuck of an offensive mismanagement. But, meh.

Not sure what you're looking at to come to that conclusion. He averaged 9.7 yards per pass attempt, showing an excellent deep ball and making some throws that nobody has made in Ann Arbor since Tom Brady was here. And since the context of the discussion is whether we can beat teams like Northwestern, the influence of strength of schedule on that number doesn't apply.

                        • He's just going to have to show it on the field. I believe he will.

                          • I liked what I saw from Gardner, he wasn't ready to play QB when he was thrust into the role thanks to him playing receiver but I have relatively high expectations for him the next couple seasons. I think he'll be one of the 3-4 top QB's in the conference and with M's defense, that should be good enough to contend for the 'west' division.

Gee?s contract calls for the retiring OSU president to be given tenure, a title and stipend.
