Both are big talents, Meyer and staff are trying to build a pipeline at Cass Tech who visit there nearly every other week. M is fine as long as they steal as much talent from Ohio as Ohio steals from M.

Webb is the coup. Marshall is probably #4 in the state. This is a very rare year where I actually like Michigan's top 5 over Ohio's top 5. Drake Harris, I think, is the prize. I would be surprised if his Sparty verbal sticks.

And M already has Ferns, but that's probably the only head-to-head M will win in Ohio this year.

I'm glad Trout made it official. That wasn't much of a question. But he's top 5 in Ohio.

Would have been nice for Jamarco Jones to sign up. In due course.

That said, M is in a position where Michigan actually has 4 or so legitimate top shelf players, and they may not get any of them. Webb, I think is solid. Marshall is, at least, an uphill battle. I don't think Drake Harris will go blue. And Malik McDowell should be M, but I've heard ND is very much in the mix.

For all the hype Cass Tech gets, all it has really done for us is boost recruiting rankings.

Him being Sparty won't stick, he committed there to play basketball and has since realized he has much more of a football future; likely M vs OSU battle imo.

I know. And I'm pretty well-pleased with that. UFM is going hard after Harris. And, for that matter, McDowell.

McDowell, Harris & Webb are a strong top 3 in-state, falls off after them to Marshall and Doles.

Yeah. I still think Marshall is a solid 4*, but the other 3, IMO, will push 5*. For a service like Scout, they may all be 5*.

Also surprised they took Campbell from SVSM. He's "under the radar." That said, OSU isn't in the kiddie pool with recruiting. They aren't taking "safe" players a year from NLOID, so they must like him. Eh.

The depressing part is we don't even have to sell our soul to be on par with Ohio State. We simply have to try a little harder. Or smarter. Or whatever. It's not rocket science.

Johnny Townsend had the good sense to F' over Urban Meyer by verbally committing OSU then signing with Florida, nice move kid. Final Rankings should change, no?



Meyer gem regarding Townsend:

As Meyer himself said Wednesday when talking about recruiting players who were pledged to other schools, every player has the right to pick his college of choice.

“Sometimes you'll hear people say Ohio State, or myself or someone, offer committed players. Let me make this real clear: Everybody does that. Rankings don't change. In the only service that M was actually really close to Ohio State, OSU still beat them by 10 points. And they didn't even sign their max players for team rankings purposes (25).

But, yes, losing the punter was devastating. It totally ruined the final two days where OSU landed a better WR skill player and a better defensive skill player than anything M has.
