I quit reading when M fans, AGAIN, compared Tressel to the Nazis and THEN got harrumphed.
But, I did read the first three paragraphs:
I know this a flame thread so, I'll assume talent's posts are just that.
That is a violation of NCAA rules no matter how insignificant osu fans want to make these violations. There is no debating this as it has been established as fact by the NCAA.
And then the Nazi stuff. Simply laughable.

I have a very strong feeling that this Kyle Kalis interview will be the gift that keeps on giving -- well, for at least another 3 years or so. It's even better than Douchebag Hart coming back for his senior season to beat Ohio State. LOL.
Tremendous: Does that make you feel better about choosing Michigan?
Kyle: Yeah. It's fuel to the fire baby. November 24th is going to be ugly.
Tremendous: I know the answer, but why is it going to be ugly?
Kyle: There will be blood on the field and it won't be mine.
Tremendous: Thank you for the epic quotable that people will talk about for a long time now, Kyle.
Kyle: Quote it. Let them know.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Jeff's right in the sense that OSU isn't ever going to see it. We all have lies on which we construct little foundations of our lives in order to like what we see in the mirror. Buckeyes will never feel the feeling of dominating The Game to the extent that Michigan did in the 1990s -- a psychological feeling of inferiority that became very deep-set. I remember in one of those late-decade games, Keith Jackson said something to the effect of ``it's right about this time in the game where in recent years you see in the body language of the Buckeyes that they don't think they can win this game'' or somesuch. osu wanted to be on the other side of the coin so badly they hired a guy they knew was going to cheat to get there, and now they are realizing that they still don't know the feeling of dominance that Michigan knew the last time this game was played on an even footing. So they double down on the myth they've created, because facing reality would be even more unsatisfying now than in 1999. They are never going to admit that they won't ever have what Michigan had.

That pretty well says it, Hack. While they have 'scoreboard' they're never going to be honest with themselves. In their mind, 'scoreboard' justifies everything. As long as they're winning on the field, nothing else matters.
This series will turn. It always has, and it always will. I have no idea if ohio fans will ever get to the point where they will demand a higher level of integrity in their program. Its hard for them to do so when they have 'scoreboard', because that's what they value more than anything else. When they no longer have 'scoreboard', maybe they will start to look within, but I wouldn't bet real money on it.
Even with their anomalous scoreboard run over the past decade, I wouldn't want Michigan to trade places with them. We had a disastrous run with RRod, but even that folly pales in comparison with the lack of integrity in Columbus over the same time period. Especially when their head man was a self-proclaimed man of integrity, and even appeared in churches, touting his honesty and integrity. I don't ever recall a Michigan coach making such claims.
And, I'm most amused at the 'flagship' claims. Its like Wile E Coyote, chasing the dream of one day capturing the Road Runner. In spite of all his efforts, its just not happening."in order to lead America you must love America"

It's impossible to take that seriously, Hack. Heh. It was good for a laugh, though.
I will say this -- you're right -- Ohio State and M aren't on even footing. Ohio State is the vastly superior program. M is inferior. Ohio State is the FLAGSHIP of the B10. M is, well, not. The Ohio State brand name is amongst the elite of the elite. M, eh, not so much.
It's the same way M and Eastern Michigan aren't on even footing when it comes to Washtenaw County dominance. Or like Ohio State and Purdue. Of course, Purdue has been more of a problem than M, so perhaps that's not the best example.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

I wouldn't trade places with them either, no. For better or worse I grew up a Michigan fan and have taken to the values inherent in that. And they will never man up and look in the mirror at what they are, because that means pondering a return to the 90s. They have to cheat now in order to avoid having to ponder the reality that without doing so they would clearly have to accept themselves as inferior.

Continuing with facts:
*Ohio State has won B10 football championships in 6 of the past 8 years. And, of course, was by far and away the best team in the league this season.
*Ohio State has won B10 regular season championships in 5 of the past 7 years. Unfortunately, I don't think they'll get to the lofty 6 of 8 football has established.
*Ohio State has won B10 tournament 3 times in the past 7 years. No other B10 school has won it more than once.
*Since 2005, Ohio State has won 11 football/basketball championships in 15 tries. Michigan State and Wisconsin are second with 4 total championships, followed by Penn State, who won 2.
*Ohio State remains the ONLY B10 schools to even play in a BCS Title game. They've done it 3 times.
*Ohio State has been to two Final Fours in the past 7 years. The rest of the B10, i.e., MSU, has been to 2.
Ohio State's dominance in the revenue sports is indisputable. Total domination.
But in non-revenue sports, Ohio State fairs nearly as well.
*Ohio State has been the highest ranked B10 school in the Sears Director's Cup 4 times since 2005 (4 out of 7).
*Ohio State has finished in the top 4 each of the past two years and hasn't been outside the top 12 in any season since 2005.
*Ohio State offers 36 varsity sports, the most in the country.
Upon further review, it seems FLAGSHIP actually doesn't come close to describing Ohio State's dominance of and importance to the B10.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Fellas, ohio fans don't give a shit if they have to get their hands dirty to win big. Frankly, I don't think they SHOULD. It's this same sanctimonious attitude that backs Michigan into a corner like a frightened turtle and produces Brady Hoke and a future that strives to replicate that last 5 years of the Carr era. Accept, adapt, and overcome the current culture of major CFB or comfort yourself with the notion of Will Campbell becoming a "Michigan Man" before he embarks on a rewarding career at an east-side Detroit car wash.
Sorry, had to be said.
Carry on.Last edited by Mike; December 17, 2012, 05:01 PM.

Ohio is an SEC school in the B10, they share the same culture of winning at all costs. No-show jobs, free rental cars, classes you can give minimal effort & pass plus and $500 handshakes from boosters that are expected in places in the south, southeast, are what many of OSU's former players admitted (but not to who would matter) to the press.
