Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.

Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

  • We have a local HS coach who is very well liked and respected. He raises his voice a lot, but has always told his players to "listen to WHAT I am saying, not how loud I'm saying it". That is a pretty good approach.

                • They're prefer it to a lot of things, actually. Even if it means they have to take a shower.

                  • I've seen the exact same shirt being sold by Hawkeye vendors and Illini vendors. I think entropy posted a link to the Iowa one, which targeted Nebraska rather than Michigan.

The Illinois one still favored Michigan.

My son tonight: "I know Tim Peters won the truck series race in the Toyota 17. Will you DVR the end of the Nationwide race so I can see who wins? I hope it's not Joey Logano."

talent, your son's IQ appears to be a good 2 to 3 standard deviations above the mean for your state. Perhaps he'll share his mother's good fortune and graces and choose to pursue her alma mater, as opposed to the "lemming approach" the rest of you seem to adhere to! Heh!

Kid knows his NASCAR! Hope he got to see a recording of last Saturday night. That was "Old Bristol"! Bruton got it right. I'm telling you, when you and your brother decide to go, go Bristol or Darlington.

                          • I never thought I'd ever watch NASCAR, let alone enjoy it. But I really look forward to watching races with him. He gets so excited. Even the Nationwide races -- I watch them with him if they're on before he goes to bed. He can even watch most of the race -- and definitely the DVR'd end -- only taking a break to race his cars.

One day, hopefully soon, that energy will be diverted, a bit, to football. For now, though, I'll settle for watch races with him and enjoying his enthusiasm (even when my car(s) goes behind the wall).
