I don't like to start rumors ..... unless they defame osu .....
The latest is that tp tweeted this morning that its funny that everyone is up in arms about me getting tats. I didn't get tats I got money.
The tweet disappeared within minutes but someone says they got a screen shot and have verified that it came from tp's twitter account.
Another rumor .... when tressel was queried about tp's tweet he responded, the account in question had been hacked.
..... and another ..... the screen shot with identifying account information was sent to NCAA compliance.
Around this time last year, I think it was, there was nothing but bad news coming out of AA. Isn't this refreshing? Rumor or not, I am enjoying the hell out of this spring.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. Re: Former OSU assistant speaks on Tressel/tat-gate
You know, throughout this whole thing, I've been struck by the apparent inconsistency of JT's handling of this, vs. his handling of other instances. I've been looking for where his handling of this meshes with his pattern of behavior with other incidences (Ray Small, TS, Bellisari, Clarett). Reading this article, I see the consistency is in loyalty and commitment to his players and the university. He erred and was wrong and transgressed in what he did. But the idea that he did it for a national championship has not and does not wash with everything else that is known and said of this man. However, the idea that he is bearing the brunt of this for the sake of his players and university - that does make sense.
It sounds a little far fetched or "Polly-Anna," but then I ask myself "who broke rules in all of this?" Well, it was five players, motivated it seems by more than a little hubris and arrogance on account of being young and impulsive. But who is really taking the heat? Their coach. The "Tat-5" are now a footnote in this story. The target has moved to the coach, and I think this is something that Jim Tressel knew would ultimately happen back when he responded as he did.
All of this changes nothing about the fact that JT lied and broke rules. But I think that what his players will remember from this, years from now, whether others do or not, is WHY he did this. Because it wasn't about wins or losses. It could not have been about wins or losses. If President Gee believed for a moment that it was about wins and losses, I believe JT may be unemployed.
The good people at ESPN and other sports sites and fan bases may never understand or believe this, because 90% of what gets focused on comes down to winning and losing in sports. But while some are reveling in saying that OSU is all about winning at any cost, those who have been a part of this school and know the players, coaches, and administration involved have much reason to believe differently. I think that for Jim Tressel, this is about family, about standing behind and believing in his kids and his school.

I think this is an interesting take from the Rival's osu board.
It shows the extent of the amount of rationalizing that is going on about the seriousnes of jim tresel's actions among osu fans. I guess there's not much else to do as fans await the NCAA hammer that will bring a merciful end to the cheating that has brought osu to the pinacle of the college game.
There is another thread discusssing tp's tweet this morning and if the tweet has the intent of providing the basis for osu to dismiss pryor making him elgible for the supplemntal draft (Yes, wild, I know). Best response was a long discussion of why this makes no sense for all the rlevant reasons regarding the on-going NFL lock-out.
I'd add that this is why one of the stupidest college players I have had the
opportunity to observe might actually do such a thing.

Heh heh. See my previous post about denial in the OSU nation and the psychological power that dissonance can have. The pattern of behavor with Tressel is his players violating the rules, and him not doing anything about it until it becomes public, at which time he lies and denies all knowledge. Lack of institutional control, at best. Outright cheating, at worst. Given the audacity that it takes to lie like Tresssel has lied for the past eight months, I vote "cheating".

Just so I am not accused of not being fair and balanced in this matter ...... heh, heh
I have a feeling this was a puff piece ghost written by osu officials.

LOL! It wasn't about wins and losses? Lying to keep 5 starters eligible when you know they are probably ineligible, and the lying again to get them to play in your BCS Bowl game isn't about winning and losing, but about "protecting the players"?
Delusional. It's about nothing BUT winning or losing. If it weren't about that, these transgressions would have been reported in spring of 2010, the players in question would have gotten their 5 game suspensions and served them in the 2010 season (probably causing OSU to lose a game or two) and then this would have been over. But due to Tressel's arrogance that he could effectively cover the whole thing up, he sacrified any sense of public integrity he had in order to avoid losing a ballgame or two.

I spent a few moments on the osu Rivals board and there is a definite theme (as Hanni can attest) that tressle's behavior in the past is inconsistent with the revelations regarding his behavior in the tat5 case and this somehow demonstrates that tressel is, therefore, less guilty than his critics charge.
Two things:
Priests, by nature of their training and being of good moral character, are above suspicion and would never molest children in their charge.
