  • Prediction:

OSU's self-imposed punishment will be Gene Smith writing "I will not cheat" on the chalkboard 25 times. The NCAA will up it to 50.

    • Not facing any violations? Did he mean sanctions? Or are they just they are turning their back and looking away? You can't face something if it's behind you...

      • why aren't more Buckfans calling for Gene Smith's head? Not because of these violations, because they are probably trivial.... but because his general suckitude over the last several years.

How can you have a douche like this steering the biggest athletic budget and program in the country?

        Amazing.

In all honesty, I have no idea how he has survived. I don't know a fan personally who thinks the guy is worth keeping

          • Gene Smith is such an imbecile that when he speaks it's considered a secondary violation.

            • 40 violations a year.... Wow...

              That is a fascinating statement.

                    PB:

On OSU forums, the overwhelming sentiment is to get Smith the F out of town. I'd say his approval/disapproval/no opinion rating amongst OSU fans is roughly 2/94/4.

                    Finally:

Back in February, a day before Valentine's Day, we asked blog readers to vote for the most disliked coach in the Big Ten.And, boy, did you vote. More than 27,000 people submitted their choice, and the "winner" by a slim margin was Ohio State's Urban Meyer.

No suprise, really. The rest of the B10 knows exactly what's coming.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
                    Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Oh, but it's because all opponents are "afraid" of them; not because two of them were tossed out on their asses in humiliation and shame.

You're up, urban; do us proud.

                          • I think you have to go back to Wes Fesler, who coached osu from 1947-1950, but I'm not even sure he didn't get fired. It doesn't say much in a bio I found on him about his transition to the Gopher's HC in 1950 after his stint with the bucks.

...... but it's pretty amazing that every osu head football coach since him and maybe even him/before him was run out of c-bus by an angry mob or upset osu administrators it would seem. Tough crowd. Enviable record, wouldn't you say?
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                            • Well, they did bring back Woody, and let him "dot the I" or whatever that thing is they do in their on-field spelling bee. And I'm sure that Saint Jim will be brought back for a similar event before too long.
