Yeah, saw that. Just wanted to piss off talent and DSL by cluttering the bobcat thread with a little culture.

          • Lynyrd Skynyrd and Neil Young was always good-natured fun; they were actually big fans of each other. Ronnie Van Zant often wore Neil Young T-shirts on stage and is wearing one on the cover of Street Survivors, the last Skynyrd album before his death.

i've heard the same thing many a time over the years, that they were not only fans of each other, but also had struck up a friendship. Also had heard that they had discussed either touring together or recording together (or maybe both?), but that when the tragic plane crash happened, those plans perished too.

              • Yes, Neal Young even played Sweet Home Alabama in concert at times as a memorial to the 3 members who died in that horrible plane crash in 1977.

                • It was no rivalry, that's for sure. And you can't compare these guys. Duane's body of work isn't speak to you in the way that Neil's does and vice-versa. But if we're playing that game, and since nobody's yet to back the best horse in the race, I have posted the picture of the guy whose pen was mightier than two swords and who rocked harder than anyone ever has or will on that '75 tour...

...and hereby declare victory over all you chumps.

I'm not that familiar with the '75 Tour you posted about, but no doubt, Dylan is at a whole different level!

To put it in perspective, using recruiting terminology, Dylan and Jimi are 5*, whereas Young and Duane Allman rate 4*; Van Zant was a high 3*

lol I would say that is spot on. With the resent passing of Davy Jones - I seen an interview with him from many years ago where he said Jimi Hendrix who toured with the Monkees only played left handed live.

                        • IMO Dylan is the only 5* (also, Korn). Perhaps the RobF ratings service would see it that way too, or bump Dylan up to a 6*, after hearing that '75 tour: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Boo..._Thunder_Revue.

                            • Disagree. He's not the kind of guy to show off on a guitar, but there's a lot more to songs than the soaring solos just as there's a lot more to good singing than pretty sounds. Take Korn, for example...
