That Barwis comment was 4 stars. Excellent work.

2012 is definitely game on. When I said that about 2014 it was more about when Hoke would actually have *his* team in place.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
    Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

    • Looks like Meyer has resigned again:

          • That is hilarious and a lot closer to the truth than I think the casual CFB observer will realize.

Here's the problem. We can all make fun of the turbin hire and furbin himself. But he's a great coach. One of the reasons he is? Organizational skills. Something Rodriguez lacks and may never acquire if his performance at Michigan is reflective of that.

meyer does nothing fancy. His teams play great defense. He runs an offense that makes the opponent defend the entire width of the field. It's a single back spread out of the gun. It has three basic components, a basic option offense, a short/timing passing game, and a triple option scheme. The triple option/QB read option is basically a split back veer out of the shotgun. Brionte Dunn don't believe a thing liar meyer tells you; you'll have no major roll whatsoever in an offense like this. It will be miller's and some fast skill guys who are good in space (where have we heard that before). miller is a perfect fit in the offense that meyer will probably run at osu. I'm not 100% sure the OL fits but he'll get it there quickly because, well, he's a darn good coach and will hire a staff that will be just as good as he is and will be 100% on board.

Under tressel's defenses, osu made a habit out of grinding up and spitting up offenses like meyer will probably debut at osu. That's going to be interesting in and of itself but, in the end, I'll bet M's and osu's offenses look remarkably alike in a lot of ways ...... at least in the 2012 season.

I have a sense that one of the big reasons the timing was right for turbin to return to football and to osu was because he feels HE will be a success at osu because of miller; I also think he knows that the NCAA is pretty much done punishing osu. If the NCAA wasn't, I don't think he comes. HIS ego is too big for him to risk disappointing osu fans and the media and tarnishing his rep.

My hat is off to osu officials and the BoT for engineering the magical disappearance of a decade of paying players, lying and cheating. The shelf life of that story is done even though it should not be. The new story going forward and in the critical short term will be the beginning of a new era of osu football that starts with the hiring of urban ("legend" - if only in his own mind) meyer.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Good to know someone else sees through the lies.

              • Timing is everything Rocky, if he didn't seize the OSU job now, it was likely never....I suspect his family gave him the approval. 4.4M a year, with two daughters, there are weddings coming, houses to buy. Frankly OSU doesn't deserve him and I wish him nothing but failure in Columbus.

                      • Maybe they'll put both Ohio and Florida in a bowl full of REAL gators, That would be watchable. But there's probably too much liability to expect that.

Since when have you had that much concern for alligators? Theres plenty of vets in the area if they got indigestion.

                            • The Gator should be most interesting this year.....Why risk letting the "Urban Myth" coach without a staff only to lose in a most embrassing fashion to his former "Dream Job", The University of Florida? Why risk tarnishing the White Knight's Debut?

It would not surprise me if OSU rehire Fickell only to promptly fire him again post-Gator Bowl Game. After all, it wouldn't be the first time Gee & Smith "Sanduskyied" him. Good Solider my ass, more like a mentally retarded Patsy.

"Welcome to the Monster Dot Com Gator Bowl, pitting Dream Job I against Dream Job II. The stands are packed with drooling idiots wearing scarlet and gray knee pads and drooling idiots bearing blue and orange daggers. The sidelines are lined with co-eds whose bedroom specialties are physical therapy in alleviating irregular heartbeats. And coming out of the tunnel on a wheelbarrow of cash that otherwise would have gone to tattoo'ed players is the Grand Poobah, Urban Legend..."
