Pressure is hugely on Michigan, no doubt. It's probably like the pressure on Cooper to win in 1996. And it would be the same level of upset and the same level of disappointment in Ann Arbor. I'm actually feeling substantially better about our chances of winning next year though. Michigan went 7-5 last year with a tougher schedule than the one that OSU is probably going to go 6-6 with this year.

There may be a lot of pressure on Michigan, but along with that, I think there is more incentive for Michigan to win this game, than there is for OlieO.

I don't think OlieO really cares if they win this or not. They've got "new coach" stars in their eyes right now, and they don't consider this to be a must win. Fickell allegedly knows that he's already back to second banana status next year, and OlieO can't really improve its bowl standing with a win. 7-5 ain't going to get them much better than 6-6.

Although, a trip to the Pizza Pizza Bowl in Detroit to play against Northern Illinois may tend to humble them a bit ....

      • the bravado from Ohio fans is pretty impressive considering that Atrial fib is going to be a chronic problem and it will be back in full force with the stress of coaching, especially with a high intensity guy like Urban.

I would be surprised if he could last more than 3-4 years before retiring again for health reasons. In which case, he would have just finished assembling "players who fit his system" before a new coach would need to be brought in.

In any event, I think we have spent enough time talking about Ohio's next coach.... who gives an F. Let them get whatever shitbag they want... I am jut enjoying the fact that their revered coach who led them to their best record against M ever has been exposed to be a liar and a cheat ... what a fitting end and a nutshot for the Bucknuts!

        • "ohio state has not contacted me"..... Urban Meyer on Saturday during the UM Nebraska game on national TV. Round on the ends and LIE in the middle that's how you spell oLIEo. Urban is gonna fit right in.. And right off get his a$$ beat by a mentee of the last Michigan Coach to beat his a$$, Lloyd Carr. Incidentally Hoke is gonna have a QB that's faster than Tebow. Denard deserved last years Heisman by the Urban Meyer / Tebow standard. Cryin' whinin' a$$ Urban Meyer. ohio has NO pride but at least John Cooper beat Bo to get the job Urban Meyer got stupid out coached by Lloyd Carr (who was supposed to be some kind of dinosaur), you'd be better off bringing in Lou Holtz, he wouldn't quit as soon as he didn't have a superior team... or would he, he was Urban's mentor.

FvCK ohio FvCK Urban Meyer and Fvck the walrus too. GO BLUE.

Why would ANY Ohio kid play at osu if an education is the real objective? Wait, education doesn't matter, its the cash, cars, and tats that matter!

            • Yeah Michigan players are all there to receive an education. Guffaw.

                • He is denying it still though

Sources have told WKMG-TV in Orlando that ESPN analyst and former Florida head coach Urban Meyer has agreed in principle to become the next head coach of Ohio State and will be introduced in the coming days.

                  • Either Mrs Meyer hasn't given final approval or Urban is concerned about that bullet while he sleeps.

                      • I will say that most UM fans have been telling me how the gimmick spread offense will never work in the Big Ten. I am confident they are right and Meyer will be a disaster.

                        • Lwt him run the spread. That just means that any offensive pro prospects in Ohio will be playing for Michigan.

They should be. If Meyer takes the Ohio job he's a massive liar. Which means he'll fit right in in Columbus.

                            • Coach Fickell *will* be part of the staff. Excellent news.

I *hope* Coach Meyer's success at 3 different programs, including one in the indisputably most difficult conference in the country, will translate well at Ohio State. It's possible he's a flim-flam man who isn't much of a coach. But, I remain optimistic that he can have some success at Ohio State.

The only question with Meyer is whether you'll get the Urban Meyer of 2008 and not the burned out Urban Meyer of 2010.
