He's been tooting about this for years, but he's never provided any evidence.

What he's doing, is providing the standard OhNo defense of these matters, ... which is "everybody does it" ...

Fact is, if Michigan had been paying ANY player over the last 20 years, the NCAA would have heard about it by now. Especially with last year's "practicegate" investigation, if anything else had been going on, it would have surfaced.

Nothing did, much to the chagrin of our OhNo friends here ...

tressel is a lying sack of shit. There is a smoking gun, two of them, there is a paper trail. This kind of behavior is not new to jt. Similar rumors surrounded his departure from YSU in 2000 and have dogged him every season at osu. "First I've Heard of it ...... didn't know about that."

George Steinbrenner, over a two year period, dangled millions in Drew Henson's face to get him to leave Michigan and play for the Yankees. He finally accomplished that the same year that tressel arrived at osu leaving Michigan without a starting QB AFTER spring practice. Convenient for tressel. Convenient indeed. Was tressel involved in that. Seems like his dirty fingers lead to a lot of bad actors given recent revelations. Its not beyond a shadow of doubt that tressel was indirectly involved here.

MoC was paid in 2001. He lied about it when asked and was suspended by osu for that. He still played in the Michigan game in the 2001 season and scored the winning TD to give osu a 14-9 victory in tressel's first year as osu's HC. He was ineligible when he did that .... and of course osu suspended him his sophomore year AFTER he played in the M game. Interesting. Did tressel know he had received benefits at any time before he played during the 2010 season? You tell me. Based on the stinking pile of shit that is tressel's integrity after the tat5, chances are pretty good that he knew.

Did tressel know about payments to other osu players funneled through various enablers and mechanisms from 2002 to 2010? Time will tell but there is substance to this assertion bolstered by the arrogance of tressel's bold faced lies, TWICE, to the NCAA in the tat5 case. He thought he could get away with it. He got caught .... and you think his tenure at osu is at 50/50? I'd call it 95/5 and that he has a 5% chance of staying is only because he may have some leverage in the tat5 fiasco over gee and who knows what that might be but guys like tressel know how to play hard ball. He's fully capable of doing so, IMO.

Look at the window dressing that has been tressel's selfless Christan Persona cleavery designed to avert prying eyes from his trickery and lying. Look at the facade of self reporting by osu over tressel's tenure as HC that is an example of one of the best acts in the history of the performing arts designed to keep the NCAA at bay duping them and the B10 Commissioner himself in the process.

This circumstance is big .... very big. The NCAA does not like being lied to.

Yeah .... osu did "win" football games but every one of those wins is tarnished by the specter of one of the biggest liers and deceivers in the history of college sports - jim tressel. Pretty good chance the NCAA will vacate all of osu's wins in 2010 and its Sugar Bowl win in 2011.

Its like Mark McQuire and Barry Bonds. Did they break the Babes' and Roger Marris' home run records? Yes they did but they did it by cheating and that will be tressel's legacy when it comes to wins over Michigan and any glory tressel brought to osu's football program, including osu's MNC in 2003 .... count on it because there will be plenty of Michigan and CFB fans fans besides me that will keep this one alive and well.

osu fans shouldn't be laughing about anything right now and the worst place to do it is around here.

I hope that Tressel doesn't get fired. I don't want the University to avoid stiff penalties by fronting Saint Jim as a sacrificial lamb. I want to see scholarship losses and a bowl ban or two.

I disagree with this even though we both want the same thing: the worst for osu. IMO, Tressel getting canned for lying about players receiving cash will put an inglorious stamp on the JT era at osu. Everyone in the country will realize how dirty that program to the south actually is. They will be synonymous with USC and Miami. Some buckeye fans will feel the ends justify the means... actually almost all of them will, but the rest of the world now knows they are cheating pieces of shit.

Let them keep standing behind their man, it will bring the whole program down. The best thing osu can do is have mutual a agreement that Tressle steps down as soon as possible. The longer this plays out the deeper shit they are in with the NCAA.
