Let's look at that. How many teams are at the top of their game in a season opener? Neutral field. I'd give M with a senior QB an experienced group of RBs and a decent OL a good shot at scoring some points. Stopping Richardson is another matter but M is not going to get blown out 31-3 with Mattison on the side lines.
Nebraska is in turmoil.
Who is going to coach osu next season? Tell me who that is and I'll tell you who might be favored. IMO, osu would be well advised to keep feckal and I'm dead serious. Just ask Michigan or Nebraska or ND about coaching staff instability and scheme changes on performance.
Finally ND. If Kelley's head hasn't exploded and if the team doesn't desert him they could be decent but they're, as always, very beatable ..... even in South Bend.
Right now, I'd say 2-2 is likely, 3-1 possible.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
As an aside...I'm actually out in Oklahoma City training for a new job, and we just had a pretty decent earthquake. USGS says about a 5.6 centered 40 miles east of here
After week 10, The Prime has led or held the top spot but thanks to corrupt officials in Iowa City as well as Hawaii failing to cover against visiting Utah State, it wouldn't even be close, Aloha my ass, I want my 18 confidence points back.
First, second & third, are merely separated by 10 confidence points, The Prime's analytics will hold as 58.2% selection buffer is considerably better than any competitor. At this point, it's merely prudent-confidence-point-disbursement. Don't worry fellas, I will not let you down.

This post is to underscore what low-grade human beings exist at OSU. To justify your own terrible behavior by saying ``well at least we didn't molest boys like Sandusky'' is remarkable! Very telling that you think it paints you in a positive light. Also very telling that the first reaction is to use the news to your own advantage.
A one-off comment. The Penn State thing, which I can barely digest, ought to put things in perspective. I suspect, though, it won't get as much coverage as football players trading their own things for tattoos. And I know that the NCAA certainly cares infinitely more about legal transactions than the unspeakable shit in HV (as they care 0 about the HV stuff).
I repeatedly highlighted the morality point re OSU -- that is to say, OSU broke completely arbitrary, morally neutral rules set up to enshrine some notion of amateurism. What happened at HV -- well, that's not morally neutral at all. It's just f'n disgusting. And they knew about it. F'n knew about it. And I'd bet my last dollar JoePa knew or had a damn good idea, too.
And while I understand these two incidents aren't, in any way comparable -- as illustrated above -- the media will nonetheless compare them. In fact, Bob Ryan just did -- "at least JoePa reported it to his superiors unlike Tressel." And that line will be echoed by more than one -- probably some here. So, while it's preposterous to compare the two, it's been done and will be done. That's the media.
Anyway, carry on with your standard meme.

Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]? Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.
There is no comparing. They do not belong on the same spectrum. For OSU fans to put them on it is revolting. Not as revolting as what went on behind the scenes in Popeterno's program, but revolting nonetheless. Peter Warrick's no longer playing; maybe you could get him in the PR department.
Paterno reported it, but then what? Did he follow up? Was he just satisfied with whatever explanation he was given? This went on for a long time, and there were several incidents. Joe Paterno knew.

I'll let you ban hate speech when you let me define hate speech.
This would be laughable if it did not involve children who obviously trusted adults who were instead of taking care of them, molesting them.
I'm going to paint a broad brush here but its worth it .....
If Paterno knew what Sandusky was up to (and it appears he did) and the extent of his opposition to it was to to tell him to stop, Sandusky's behavior is equivalent to the parish priest asking a young boy to fondle his genitals for forgiveness, the Bishop (Joe Paterno) finding out about it and doing something about it that is equivalent to doing nothing. The Catholic Church, which does a lot of good things, is emptying its coffers to pay restitution to thousands of young people abused or molested by the parish priests that they trusted. Thats making it hard for them to carry on missions that are valuable.
I would not doubt that PSU is going to find itself in a similar situation ...... right or wrong with regard to accountability in this matter, they are going to suffer embarrassment and monetary penalties that will hurt them. That is why the best move for them is to cut ties with everyone involved including Paterno and to do it immediately ..... no golden parachutes under the table for anyone that can be reasonably believed to be covering for Jerry Sandusky. Even that won't save them from law-suits but it might save their reputation. Learn from the Catholic church's experience here.
Here's a thought. Child molesters routinely do not stop their behavior without significant interventions and then sometimes not at all. Some psychiatrists argue that the only prevention program that works is to lock them away. IOW, Jerry Sandusky was going to continue to diddle kids regardless of anyone in authority telling him to stop. He needed to be truned over to police for his suspected crimes when they were first recognized by his superiors and let the outcome be determined by officials who do this kind of thing for a lving. Curley (and probably Paterno) and likely the University made the wrong choice by pushing it up the internal chain. saying stop and then looking the other way. About the best we can do in our society that fears over regulation and values personal freedoms and choice is to identify those convicted of these perverse crimes and keep track of them in the face of many civil libertarians who think this sort of thing should be illegal.
