  • Actually then it's pretty amazing that M has been so successful given that it has REAL in-state competition for the meager talent in Michigan and has to compete against the Flagship in Ohio. What a great underdog story the winningest team of all time has proved to be.

    • Dan Majerle was a 3 time NBA All Star, and his number was retired by the Phoenix Suns.

And, he could still whup your behind in a game of pickup ball on any court in ohio.

                • Three Ohio State players have been suspended for Saturday's game for accepting too much money for too little work in their summer jobs.

Report: Ohio State bans may go longer

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The lawyer for four Ohio State players set to return from suspensions this week for accepting cash and free tattoos says the NCAA is questioning the eligibility of one of the players.

Larry James, who represents tailback Daniel Herron, wide receiver DeVier Posey, left tackle Mike Adams and defensive end Solomon Thomas, told The Associated Press on Monday that "probably we're talking about potentially one player as we speak that there's an issue around. But that's not finalized."

Ohio State Gene Smith has called a news conference for later in the day.

The five players were expected to be cleared to join the team this week for the Buckeyes' game at No. 14 Nebraska. They have sat out the team's first five games for accepting cash and free or discounted tattoos in violation of NCAA rules.

                      • Heh -- found at elevenwarriors, compliments of mgoblog...

I might as well live in prison. Free room and board. No electricity bill. My wife already cooks like sh!t so food isn't a problem and I feel liked I have been ------ in the @$$ so many times this season already, that no other man could possibly want to have a piece. This extra handout occured in the summer? How many months after their previous infraction came to light and they were suspended? There is zero accountability on these players. None. If the players felt like they owned this team I doubt that they would be playing as poorly as they are. Maybe it is just an offense thing? The defense is playing well and they aren't the ones getting in trouble sans the guy that has done nothing except one late game interception in his carreer. No accountability at all. Who steps up and takes ownership of this team? No one because we have captains swapping weekly. This isn't even a slant on Fickell. Someone, regardless of title, step up and lead.

Kick Boom and Posey out for repeat offender. They should be walking a straighter line than anybody else and setting the example right now. That leadership we were looking for on this team? Not from these two thanks.
