And just so you know, we just survived a microscope-up-the-ass inspection at the hands of the NCAA, and they found nothing of this nature. Let's see if OSU let's the NCAA scrub them top to bottom and survives.
I pray that you guys try that "everybody does it" bullshit with the NCAA.

Is there a link between the success of the top football teams in the Big Ten and their police records? OSU, PSU, Iowa, and MSU have all become rogue programs. Can Hoke bring Michigan back without going down that same road? Hard-hitting sanctions against OSU could clean up the Big Ten in a significant way.I'll let you ban hate speech when you let me define hate speech.

I'll send you an OSU "2011 Big Ten Champions" tshirt, Jeff. You can gaze upon it and remind yourself that that's where you'd like Michigan to eventually be. Get motivated!!I don't always roll a joint, but when I do, its usually my ankle

I propose we all go back to our old moniker for Tressel:

I aprreciate it that we have some osu posters here. But, right now, I have no respect for osu football. I gave it grudingly in the past because of Woody and Bo and what the M/osu rivalry means to CFB. But now? After what we have learned from the tat 5 episode? No.
If the everybody is doing it mantra is accurate, and I'll agree there is a lot of it going on that coaches may or may not know about (players getting benefits), my guess is that there is more of this going on at osu than what has been exposed by the Cicero emails. What just gets me is that tressel knew about it, did nothing and then lied to the NCAA and maybe his bosses about it. Why? Again my guess is because there is now and has been widespread abuses of the NCAA rules by osu ..... by USC and, I expect we will discover, Auburn. We're only seeing the tip of the iceberg.
When there is a pile of stinking shit where only the odor has been discovered and not yet the pile, liers tend to dig themselves in deeper and deeper to stop the pile from being discovered. That is almost a universal truth. That is why I don't trust jim tressel, smith or gee .... too much smoke going all the way back to jt's YSU days and huge motivation to cover-up by smith and gee as discovery by the NCAA regarding how deep this might go would be the death nell for osu athletics for a decade or more.
I don't like some of the NCAA's rules and I don't think the NCAA has the necessary tools to enforce violations like those that the tat 5 committed, that Cam Newton was involved in, Reggie Bush ... the list is long. But flaunting the rules like it appears all of these players/institutions have done, in some cases implying by their actions they have no respect for the NCAA or the rules (and I think USC and osu are prime offenders here), just boggels my mind.
That it is going on in our universities where, beyond formal education, citizenship and fairplay, advancing your self by hard work with integrity and honesty, are things to be learned and practiced is very disappointing to me. A hc, who claims he has the best interests of his athletes as a high priority and is in a postion to influence the nation's youth in a positive way, then lies and breaks the rules to advance his interests does not belong in that position.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

According to osu fans, as long as he is winning, he does. Besides, if everyone else is doing it, so it must be OK.

I am trying to figure out who's violations were worse, Tressel or Pearl.
I would imaging it would be Tressel since he knowingly played ineligible players (probably something he has been doing for years according to MoC).... but unlike Pearl, the establishment at O-state seems to have Tressel's back, and who knows, the NCAA may buy Tressel's "I didn't think about the NCAA implications" gambit.Last edited by Pasadena Blue; March 21, 2011, 05:04 PM.

When it comes to OhNo, the NCAA will be too jelly-spined to take real action against him. I doubt that they will go any further than his laughable "5-game suspension" ... that really isn't a suspension ... because he will still be in the stadium, calling the shots, and coaching the team ...I don't always roll a joint, but when I do, its usually my ankle
