We don't play a FCS school this year so maybe put your total at 8.

I agree Hack, under RR he essentially drove the team off the cliff in 3 short years, prior to that the criticism was Carr has some very talented teams that under-preformed. Hoke has set the bar, no excuses Big Ten Championship or bust, it will take 85 guys that believe, I say 9 or 10 wins with the upset over OSU....Conference Companionship is simply out of reach imo but I like his MOXIE!

        • Set the goal now, sure. I think Hannibal makes a good point about the cupboard being bare for 12 and 13, but we'll see. If true, it only makes it that much more important to have a big year this year, and to restore the rivalry games to contests where no matter the rankings or odds, it's going to be a game. Michigan has got to be perceived as being back in a big way if it is going to capitalize on the opportunity OSU has handed it.

Huh? In '12, Denard is a senior. In '13 Gardner may only be a junior, if he gets his medical redshirt. Then, a guy named Shane Morris comes in.

On the OL, we have the highest rated group of recruits coming in since before the Carr administration. And its "the cupboard is bare" already? Wow ... tough crowd here.

What more do you want Hoke to do? I know the man has to prove it on the field, but can we at least give him one season before we declare the '12 season and beyond "failures"?

We're still underdogs in The Game for at least two more years, probably more.
Wow. So I have to find something else to do for Michigan's last game of the season, until I am over 60 years old? Sheesh ... this sounds like something that Talent or Strangelove would say to me ...

                  • Lines ...... I think what Hanni and Hack are concerned about is the youth factor. The OL is going to be thin on experience. The 12 class is going to have to be ready to play in 13. There's some of that on the DL but I think there's better depth and quality there right now and it looks stronger than its been in years. LBs are fine and so are the DBs.

M can have a great QB. If he's on his back or scrambing on every play, it won't matter how good he is.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                    • Hannibal's made the point well that the two-deep will likely be more talented this year than in the next two. Hoke's not responsible for that, but he gets it -- he gets that the expectations have to be high. I'm glad he gets it and I hope he's up to the task, because there's a door open here.

                      • Penalties for UT and Pearl are consistent with what reasonable folks would think was going to happen. Of note, UT's self-imposed penalties were deemed sufficient by the NCAA.

                        • So you believe that if Jim Tressel is employed by another school as football coach, that he should go before the NCAA, along with the new school, so that they can dole out appropriate sanctions?
