The review of Honda McCord's game against M was extrememly painful. They should have put 38 up, at least, but "should" means having a different QB, which they didn't, so 24 is actually the correct number.

I'm certain CRD told him he'd have to compete for the job next year. This is the culmination of the Quinn Ewers shit. They had CJ, they sort of knew McCord wasn't going to be "OSU good" and they had recruited over him. He probably should have never started, but Ewers got it in his head to skip his senior year of HS and go spend four months in a new place without a hope of playing. If he waits a year, who knows.

Anyway, CRD pretty much said he doesn't love McCord when he had an open competition b/t McCord and Brown (and Brown, whew -- he ain't that good). And there are always at least 3-4 times where it's obvious that CRD is pissed at the Honda for fucking shit up.

Transfer? Probably. I know they really like Kleinholz and they love Air Noland, but those guys are probably 2025 at earliest.

Now, McCord still put up more points against M than Stroud did last year, but....he wasn't good enough.

There was a thread a week ago on an OSU forum that I ignored because it seemed like nonsense. The poster was claiming that he knew, for a fact, that McCord was out the door. His general synopsis:

From what I was told they gave McCord until end of the season and it was mutually agreed they would move on from each other. A lot has went on behind closed downs including Kyle having a complete meltdown and being emotionally spent after the Wisconsin game. This has been really taking on Kyle’s mental. Not only that Kyle’s dad has been very active on social media and dm a lot of people throughout the season in defense of his son.

I don't know anything abou the Wisconsin game or not. His dad is definitely being a dad. But, being OSU QB is a tough job. And McCord never really raised his ceiling. He's fine. But he's not going to get OSU to elite and that's where they're used to being.
