So, there's no pretending that this program isn't in massive decline. It just is. The days of conference title-dreaming, let alone national-title dreaming are gone. CRD is just awful.
That said, this season Ohio State has managed to rip the heart out of Notre Dame AND then beat a Penn State team that those fucks thought for sure was going to finally get it done. So, that's some really nice consolation on the way to 3-losses and an absolutely asswhupping in AA.
It's going to take a little while to recalibrate down to "look for the good in the season" -- but I'm trying. And, really, I don't have much of a choice. It's where they are.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

I should say -- at least CRD is still recruiting really well (if you believe recruiting rankings). He'll continue to do less with more than any coach in the country, but at least his "more" is so massive that he shouldn't end up in any sort of 8-4 disaster seasons.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

I always hate playing in Madison. Hate it. Hate Wisconsin. Brutal game last night. McCord was total meh. But, it was nice to see Henderson back. Having an actual RB isn't so terrible. They still need to get Egbuka back to have a chance of being something other than thoroughly mediocre on offense. Harrison is still pretty good. I doubt he'll do much against M, but he's solid.
The defense -- hard to tell. They haven't really played a team capable of throwing the ball except maybe Western Kentucky. It looks like Lathan Ransom is probably out awhile after last night -- that's a big bummer.
Anyway, that's their first double digit victory in Madison in ages -- 5 tries, including two with UFM (OT shitfests). So, I'll take it. Whatever.
Oh well. CRD has lost 6 times in his nearly 5 seasons, and only 3 times in the regular season. He has a definite L coming up in AA, and then we'll see how the bowl nonsense shakes out.
The rock fight tour contines with a trip to Piscataway where I'm sure it'll be something really gross like 20-17. And then the Goofer and Sparty at home for more rock fights before heading north to get absolutely fucking plastered by HARBAUGH!!!!

Also, what the H is OSU's scoring disparity in the 4th quarter. Seems a lot of teams stay close until the inevitable collapse late in games and the end score looks like a comfortable win.Comment
