I'll just answer here. I don't tailgate at the Fawcett anymore. Here is where he should go: there's a small lot across the river from the Towers/Stadium on the corner of Olentangy River Rd. and John Herrick Drive. The entrance is off of John Herrick. It's $20. Lot opens at 5am (I think). If you're there before 7 you'll be able to back up to a green space -- a fairly good one. There's already a group that gets there days early to claim the corner with a huge tailgate, but there are still lots of spaces with green left.
That's where I've tailgated the last 10 years. It's gold. The only downside is that it's probably a 7-8 minute walk to the bank of shitters. Or you walk across the street and go into woodsy area. Whatever. It's 10 a minute walk to the Stadium You will tailgate with the Stadium directly in the background.

I'm seeing 8.5 as the spread for The Game now (down from 13.5 pre-season). I think that it will be under 7 by game time unless UM loses one.
