If it's a family friend then they can loan him a billion dollars. It wouldn't matter. If it's not a family friend, then the amount would matter. UK self-reported a "loan" to player from an AGENT in the amount of $1600. That player was suspended for 1 game and the NCAA gave its stamp of approval.
