Look .... do you think I don't want to see osu get absolutely buried? I want them to take it in the ass and never be heard from for a decade. You are reading the #1 osu hater on this board ..... based on 42 years of it.

But I will guarantee you that NCAA politics are involved. Money is involved and powerful people with sway are involved. Justice may or may not be served in this matter. It is what it is. If you don't believe that, you aren't thinking clearly about this.

    • Can't see Ohio getting any less than USC level punishments.

      • I hear you Jeff, but I can just see pat haden on the phone right after those sanctions are announced and if they are not equal to usc's there will be hell raised.

I'm still on the fence with delaney's involvement in regards to the sugar bowl coverup.

        • I'm sure Delaney just wanted what OSU and the B10 wanted, the suspensions delayed and I"m sure Delaney had no knowledge over when Tressel knew more than we did.

            Is that what M wanted?

            • No but those at the B10 office wanted a full squad of OSU in the Sugar Bowl.

              • Since when has the Big Ten ever cared about what Michigan wanted?

Delaney's interests involve protecting the bowl revenue stream for the B10. We are talking a lot of money here if osu gets a three year bowl ban. osu, because they cheated, were regular players in the big dollar BCS bowls. I don't know if there are teams in the B10 (except maybe M and PSU) with the drawing power that make them attractive BCS bowl participants, tie ins be damned. I can see Iowa for example or MSU being BCS bowl eligible but getting pushed to the side for flashier schools with equal won lost records and similar BCS standings in the SEC that travel better.

Now, obviously, other B10 schools that might have been bounced because osu was a flashier pick with fans that travel better, will buy lots of tickets and spend lots of money in their (cheating) day in the sun, some teams are going to benefit. e.g., Iowa, MSU, PSU and now Michigan subject to the caveats above.

These teams MAY - not at all a sure thing - replace osu's lost revenue by making appearances in the bigger pay-out bowls instead of osu ..... and count on it, Delaney's bean counters in Chicago are calculating the cost-benefit probabilities of having osu sit out the bowl season for X years as we speak. This calculation may determine the degree to which Delaney comes out behind closed doors for or against osu.

Probably, yes. Michigan happily accepts its share of the money we earned for the conference all these years.

Absolutely. Just like OLieO accepted its share of Michigan's bowl money in the 90's.

Without that, you guys would have never gotten Tressel ...
