My initial take on the OSU-PSU game. It's almost two mirror teams, but OSU is a little bit prettier everywhere except, maybe, QB. Defensively, Penn State is replacing everyone and it shows. Their secondary hasn't been particularly great and, shit, Pitt ran on them in the first half without even the slightest pretense of passing. The defense will definitely give up some points. Not unlike Ohio State, which is still prone to back 7 gaffes. The difference between the two is that OSU has a real unit of strength in the DL, even without Bosa. So, I'm not sure Penn State's defense is able to take anything away straight up, but OSU's DL can make it hard to run Sanders and also get pressure on McSorley.
Offensively, I think the teams are about the same. Skill-wise, Penn State has a really nice back and some solid WRs (JuJuan Johnson is a real problem, IMO). The OL is veteran and solid. Ohio State has the same arsenal, more or less, in skill players. The OL was a question mark, but it's acquitted itself well to date -- and I don't think PSU will be able to put as much pressure on Haskins as TCU did. So, that gets us to the QB. McSorley is a RS Senior that has been in the forge lots of time. He makes plays and will certainly make them against OSU. Haskins is, by far, the better NFL prospect, but he's only starting his 5th game. He's shown some flashes under pressure -- last year at M he blew up Don Brown's defense and against TCU he was pretty good. However, that's not a night game at HV. This will be a real test. Troy Smith, when he was still becoming Troy Smith, went to HV and barely lost -- mustering only 10 points. OSU will score more than 10 on Saturday, but it highlights the difficulty.
So, talent-wise, I lean to OSU as about a TD better. So, I get the line at 4 which obviously accounts for HV. But, I've seen too many good -- really good -- OSU teams go there and struggle. A few have been lucky enough to eke out a win (2014). But, it's always a struggle. I think this game is played in the 30s. The offenses are just too good and the defenses not. It's going to come down to QB play -- McSorley vs Haskins.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Defensively, I think Penn State has to bring pressure and test OSU's OL. I don't think they can sit back and play coverage. Haskins will destroy that. BUT, I'm not sure how much they trust their CBs. I know in the past they've brought gads of pressure and torn apart OSU's OL. They've also sat back. I think they have to get after Haskins.
Offensively, I think they'll go fast. TCU put OSU out of position a lot going fast and I think PSU has the horses to do that and do it better than TCU did.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Hey, I'm hearing some muted rumors that meyer will be the Cowboy's next HC in 2019.
I dug this article up that discusses why meyer's name doesn't come up when GMs are looking for a HC to replace the ones they're tired of.
What I have seen floating around the interweb is that meyer is mightily pissed off at the osu's handling of his role in the ZS and CS affairs. He's plenty angry that he had to fall on his sword for his alleged conduct which he believes was completely honorable and in accordance with any contractual or any departmental/human resources rules. So much so, that it's rumored he may be looking to make a move at the end of this CFB season because he sees it as he got fucked over. I'd hate it if he left ...... before Harbaugh can dance a jig on osu's emblem at the center of the field in c-bus a few times. It's going to happen.
