This is not surprising at all and M will continue to lose recruiting battles involving Top 100 recruits to programs that do things better than Harbaugh has managed to do in his first 3y at M.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

It does, Hanni, and UFM can really recruit. But this seemed a bit of a stretch. But, ND lost Heiland and it was game on.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Then again, maybe it papers over problems on the staff that could have festered for years, rather than demanding attention now. Harbaugh isn't an idiot. He may have to rethink what he does, but he's capable.

Could very well be. Maybe the game's full embrace of the spread while he was in SF makes him outdated despite being mostly a college coach over the court of his career. Not gonna rule it out. You can't be a supposed QB guru and see your QB regress from end of season to bowl game. Just can't. But who was accused of loafing, or not getting/wanting? I didn't know any of that.
But none of this is set in stone. Normally by Year 3 you should be on your way, but every situation is different. We'll see what happens next year. Clearly it's worrying that he can't build a proper staff and may be for now stuck with guys who aren't good choices. He may have to identify some young high-potential assistants if established ones won't come. Something could be very off. The Enos story is suggestive.

That is a (pretty) good post hack (for you). :-)
The Wolverine podcast - Chris Balas said this is the worst stretch since the 50s for the program. Called out the players for 'getting out of shape' leading up to the Bowl game and used the phase plenty of 'man boobs'. Former Michigan OL Doug Skene (on the show) said there is no excuses for that and it would NEVER had happen under Bo - saying we had to be on that scale and would answer to (Bo) himself. Not the S&C Coach
He also said the MSU coaches 'gets it' with the players attitude and getting to 'know them' to keep them hungry and mean. Skene saying he didn't want to go all 'Amani Toomer' though - should be better next year!Last edited by WingsFan; February 6, 2018, 09:53 PM.

Now Skene was used to winning in his days, he was on 5 B10 champion teams. So yea he is pissed, he said Peters was sulking and not being a leader even if he is young. They talked about the SC players also saying they knew what plays Michigan was calling before hand also. Just embarrassing..

Interesting. I didn't know that. This from a coach who came to us with the reputation of seeking out every little competitive edge he could. Something could very well be seriously wrong here. It just doesn't add up. Curse of Bobby Lane is in this case the Curse of Ryan Mallet? Or something like that. It's astonishing how many ways Michigan has found to lose since whenever you want to draw the line. Lloyd's ways differed from RR's, and then Hoke has his own version and Harbaugh may be forging new paths to futility. And it all happened under three different ADs and university presidents. Maybe the massive institutional hubris in Ann Arbor is too much to overcome.
Then again, at other times, it's a wonderfully coached team that just falls short for reasons beyond his control. He took a team into Columbus in 2016 and won the game, really. He had no business being up 14-0 in this year's version, or being in the game until the end vs Wisconsin.

Harbaugh is 8-7 in the month of November with Michigan, when the real games are played. When hired we all thought we had the nobody's is going to push us around now - we got the 'step on their throats' guy. Boy was I wrong.
