      • With a decent defense, the difference in 45 and 50ppg is illusory. The main diff is the coach and when said coach calls off the dogs and puts third and fourth stringers in.

          • I'll wait to do a more complete updated recruiting board until the services re-rank players in view of "The Opening." However, there are a couple things worth mentioning.

            1. I should have known better than to think there was any chance with Zamir White. He was all Georgia all day long. That said, Brian Snead continues to look really good and I expect Master Teague to shoot up the ratings.

            2. Jeremy Ruckert will end up the highest rated TE and may end up a 5* -- had a fantastic week in Oregon. Zero doubt in my mind he's OSU.

            3. Kamryn Babb also had a really good showing in Oregon. Pretty much zero doubt about him, IMO, too.

            4. The two in-state guys left on the board are more freak athletes than anything else. Blue Smith and Tyreke Smith. Still feel good about both.

            5. K'Vaughan Pope (ILB) wants to commit in the worst way. He's #145 overall in the Composite. OSU is slow-playing him a bit with a few other LBs still on the board. Crazy.

            6. I think they still have a good chance to land 3 more kids in the top 30 (Cook, Carman, Campbell), but none of those 3 is a lock --even Carman.

            • Is your class going to be better than last seasons?

              • With 24 or 25, yes, I think it probably is better. I'd bet against it in terms of average unless a couple kids get big bumps. It could still be fairly close - over 94 for avg.

We'll see about that. You've got a good record, as far as I'm concerned, but seem to be getting a bit cocky.

My forecast is that UM and OSU will both be top notch for years, with the eventual UFM-Harbaugh record about even. The recruiting difference is small enough that each game will be a toss up. UFM is a great coach, but so is Harbaugh. OSU gets more 5 stars now, but not enough to set them at a permanently higher plateau.

                  Game on!

                  • Recruiting difference ISN'T small, Alabama and Ohio State are WAY much talented than Michigan, Florida State, Clemson, LSU, Georgia, USC, etc.

                    • Didn't stop Clemson from beating Alabama last year, or Mississippi from beating Alabama regularly.

And I'll say the recruiting difference is small. M has a lot received of top notch recruits the last 2 years.

Harbaugh will have to keep up the good work, but there's no sign he won't. Saban is probably past his peak, and Meyer is flat out good.

All Michigan fans should be elated at the present time. Not only is our team top notch, but we will face the best competition every year, prepping us for success in the bowl. (Last year seems to have been an exception in that regard, as the all-powerful Buckeyes lost 31-0. At least the Bucks didn't lose to the Spartans this year, although they came close.)

                        • More talented team doesn't always win the game. The better team usually does.

                          • The recruiting difference for 2016 and 2017 was small enough to be manageable for Harbaugh. If it were like that every year then he might be able to make the series pretty close to even. But we'll have down years in recruiting, and it appears that OSU won't.

Yeah, we'll see. The Mgo take on Ruckert is borderline idiotic -- "he's radio silent w/ reporters, so who knows? = we have a chance!". First, what a kid says to a reporter is generally meaningless. Second, he's not radio silent with coaches. And if he had told HARBAUGH!!!! that he was coming Sam Webb would be having one of his gut feelings or whatever. Ohio State folks feel remarkably confident about Ruckert.
