How's that? Was that good enough to be on your level?
Great game. Heartbreaker for M. I have a feeling these games will be like this going forward. We'll see if UFM and crew can hold it down for the B1G in the cfp. M lost today but I have no doubt Harbaugh keeps it moving.
Also, probably a good showing today for OSU recruiting. It means something to beat a rival like that in front of a raucous home crowd...even if it only means a small something.Monkeys don't sell bananas.

I feel surprisingly sanguine.
It's harder, IMO, to lose to inferior teams. That's why I said the loss last year to MSU would be worse than if they lost to M this year. And even the 2013 loss. Yesterday when M went up by 10 I made my peace with a loss. It was going to suck, but shit, sometimes you just get beat. There were lots of reasons for me to optimistic going forward, so it certainly wasn't like this was the end of the road -- OSU wasn't going anywhere. My brother and I just looked at one another and said, eh, they're just better today. Thankfully, things turned around remarkably in the 4th quarter and OT.
All of that said, that was one of the most grindingly intense games I've ever sat through. For OSU to be brought back to life with the bad interception at the end of the 3rd and then for them to chase the game the entire 4th quarter -- where one wrong play would F them -- my god. And what made it even harder is that they WERE moving and WERE getting stops. So it was POSSIBLE. The clusterfuck disaster offense of the first 3 quarters was stunningly replaced by a team that strung together 2 huge drives.
It reminded me of the 2002 game when OSU chased that 9-7 score the entire 2nd half. I was way younger then, had never seen OSU win a NC and was still stuck in the Cooper World, so that one was worse. This one is a solid 2nd.
So, sanguine is the right word. Speight is good -- I mean, I think he's pretty good now and going to be really good. That should be enough to carry you through next season well enough -- OSU got by on raw, underage talent because JTB can do some things and Curtis Samuel is a threat. M can get by on Speight while they plug in their youngsters.
I also think M still has an outside shot at the CFP. If Colorado beats Washington and PSU beats Wisky -- I dunno -- how the fuck do you take either of those teams ahead of M?Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

I hate I missed the game. I was at a service in the Altar of Bryant, and only got to see bits and pieces of it.
What I did see impressed me with M. In the weeks past, I never got the feeling that they would give OSU a close game. I was wrong. Legit top 3 or 4 team."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

Really, they are very close and each do some very similar things organizationally.
But Saban has a number of years on Urban. It will be intersting to compare and contrast the two at the end of their respective careers.
This year is Saban's best coaching job, imo. The thaumaturgy Saban has worked with this team is awe-inspiring. True fresman at QB, true freshman starting on the OL, true freshman in the RB rotation, and the best front 7 on defense that I have ever seen in college -in a year where I thought we would be rebuilding- has impressed me."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln
