No doubt in my mind either. There's lots of good people on this planet who for some reason end up doing bad things. Far fewer truly bad people. He's one of the latter group.

So we have a new slant on the osu mess .....
Rod Gilmore is quoted as saying (paraphrased) its too bad that a young black man (pryor) is taking most of the heat.
This remark is going to be widely misinterpreted and misconstrued. What he meant is that the buckeye nation has turned tressel (white) into a victim being victimized by pryor (black) ....... apparently, things have gotten ugly in c-bus with racial overtones. Gilmore is commenting negatively (and rightfully) on this.
That race has been injected as a factor in this situation by buckeye fans does not surprise me one bit.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

I just heard Kevin Noonan of Buckeye Grove.com on radio and he made a point that the OSU program is a graveyard for coaches. He revealed the fact no coach since WWII has left on his own terms since they all were fired or resigned. The last one was Paul Brown who left on his own terms to go fight the war. Is that stunning?! Even their greatest coach Woody was fired albeit his own doing. The culture there is all SEC.
Bit of a misleading stat because since 1951 there's only been four coaches total.
It's also not completely true. Carroll Widdoes (quit 1945), Paul Bixler (quit 1946) and Wes Fesler (quit 1950) all quit on their own volition and each cited the pressure to win in Columbus being "too much". None of those three were fired
Woody, Bruce, Cooper all fired. Tressel forced out. I suppose that's more than Michigan or Nebraska, but Michigan fired both Moeller and Rich Rod fairly recently. I think there is some controversy over whether Lloyd was pressured to leave or not. The M fans insist he could've coached till he died if he wanted...I obviously disagree. I don't know if Oosterbaan or Bump Elliott were under pressure to resign.
Nebraska has fired their last two coaches...they hit gold with Devaney and Osborne. In the 50's Nebraska more or less forced Bill Glassford out and Bill Jennings, the guy right before Devaney, was fired.
Notre Dame has fired three straight coaches. Do they have an SEC mentality too?

Sanctimonious means ``Making a show of being morally better than others, especially hypocritically pious.'' It's almost as if the word was created just for Jim Tressel. I just think there are stronger words that apply and a good argument to back that.

heh .... heh .....
All these schools you mention do want to win. So, they tend to fire coaches who don't do that. Obviously there's a difference with osu.
Woody won big, cooper won, Bruce? well, yes and no.
tressel ..... huge winner (in one sense).
The point being, coaches usually get fired for not winning. All of OS's modern day coaches won plenty but they got fired in Woody's case for losing it, in cooper's case for not beating Michigan enough., in earl Bruce's case ..... I never could figure that out - a class guy, tressel? No question a winner on the field but a certified liar who is alleged that he fixes raffles, signs shoulder pads for tp so he can sell them for cash, tats and cars and appears, given the Dohrmann piece, has a particular interest in making sure his players know how to find the right connections for cars, drugs and cash.
Unlike the examples you sight, DSL, all of osu's disgraced coaches could damn well coach football. But they either had a marble or two lose, couldn't beat Michigan or were cheaters.
I would be so proud.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Woody was a better coach than Bo. And Tressel was obviously better than Lloyd.
Oh and few sociopaths are sanctimonious though I suppose anything's possible in the mind of a Michigan man, so ravaged and warped a mind it must be, particular after a decade of being frustrated and humiliated

Bruce was fired for 1) Not being Woody 2) Losing games the admin considered "winnable" 3) Recruiting struggled late in his tenure.
Of all the firings that's the only one I think OSU should feel badly about. It was handled extremely poorly and Earle deserved to go out better than he did. Cooper had it coming (not just for not beating Michigan) and Woody left them no other choice.
