Tate Martell is coming back to Columbus this weekend for his second unofficial visit. Couple with what Bill Greene is saying, I think he'll be in the class. And that obviously puts Lindsey even more in play.

Tate Martell commits. It's only slightly surprising insofar as his timing, but the end result is of no surprise. Martell is the #1 Dual QB on the Composite and #33 overall. That gives OSU 7 verbals in the 63 of the Composite.
That also ought to signal where Tyjon Lindsey is going, in case there was any doubt.
Oracle-wise....OSU is now at a staggering 262.39 with only 13 "counter" commits--they have 14, but even if you are the #1 Kicker in the country, it still drags your average down and does nothing for overall point. Adding Grimes and Okudah and removing Sibley puts them at 280 and change with 15 commits. They should take 20 (the staff is anticipating another significant exodus for the NFL Draft...not an NFL MACHINE, INC!!!! type thing, but still, significant).Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Also WRT the 20 number, Blake Huebil, the kicker, is taking a grayshirt. I also think if Danny Clark wants in the class he'll have to grayshirt and I think he will. He's an in-state top 300 4* QB, but, eh, shit is tight. First world problems.
Factoring in Sibley's departure, current number may be 11 instead of 14 with 20 as their working target. IMO, they probably have 2-3 kids in the bag and I think they'll only go up to 20 for super-talented kids. For example, I think they'll take 2 WRs, but if the 3 they're chasing want in (including DPJ...lol) then they'll take them. But they won't reach for a WR that's not, say, in the top 50 nationally.
So, it's pretty much choosing right now. That said, I've put together my pick 6 grab bag for Oracle and now have to get around to shipping it. And I guess I should do that before my supplies run low and am forced to dip into that stash.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

I think so. They would take him as a DT and the only question is whether they view him as elite enough. I think they do.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Not really. He's a nice player. Wish he played slightly better competition, but he's legit. So is Warren, the RB on that team.
They are locked into Chase Young at DE. If they don't get him they may drop down.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Tufele said OSU leads but hasn't visited, so meh. I guess UFM still has some pull in Utah, but until he visits..whatever.
In other news, Lindsey announces 8/22 (UNL or OSU) and Grimes on 8/24 (OSU). Emory Jones, #2 Dual/#41 OVR for 2018 should announce in the next month.Last edited by iam416; June 14, 2016, 08:31 PM.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
