Please support the Forum by using the Amazon Link this Holiday Season
Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.
Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.
If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!
Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.
Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

Look...I hate the rule...needs to be changed...but there have been many players...including husker players...booted because of the same hit...but no reversal...but now OSU is in danger of being outed for a playoff spot...big date at Happy Valley...and VOILA!!!
It's a joke. The B1G is a joke. The NCAA is a joke. CFB officiating is at its worst level in history as well...multi-billion industry and this is the leadership...

Speaking of penalty calls, Wiz:
Saturday, a Bama DL was pursuing the Mizzou QB after the snap. The line judge threw a flag for a Mizzou false start but fumbled the whistle initially and was not able to blow the whistle until the QB was being tackled. The Mizzou QB (who was in a position to see the LJ throw a flag and wave his arms) slowed but did not stop running. The flag was behind the DLman and outside of his line of sight. The QB was hit in the lower back and went down. He was not hurt.
The correct call was:
A) No penalty. Offsetting. Replay the down.
B) Assess the false start; no late hit due to lack of a whistle.
C) Pick up the flag for false start and assess a 15-yard roughing the QB.
Seems kinda rare. What woulda been correct? SEC refs chose option C. Regardless, it was a signature SEC officiating event."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

To be fair, DeBoer complained and they went back and assessed the false start but upheld the roughing/late hit call. So, the net result was a 10-yard Mizzou gain and a 1st down.

Whether the Alabama player gets flagged for a late hit shouldn't have anything to do with the false start. If they thought the Bama player committed a PF, wouldn't you still assess the false start first and then the 15 yards against Alabama? So a net gain of 10 yards for Missouri?
