He didn't praise Nebraska heartily enough at the end or something.

I mean, until a coach pulls a Kirby and shoves an opposing player (last week) or does a Drinkwitz and cusses out opposing players for hitting his QB (yesterday), this Ryan Day cotton candy stuff will have to take a back seat.

Day never got an USC penalty at all. The targeting penalty was the only penalty yardage assessed on the play in question. His outburst was not penalized. Rhule received an USC penalty twice this year for far less of an outburst. The refs were scared to assess another 15 because the crowd was already throwing water bottles on the play results after the review and the targeting confirmation. Any other head coach would have been flagged. He got away with it. The officiating in this game was abhorrent. Not to the level where it determined the outcome though I don't think. There were 4 calls that I was perplexed by...the OPI on UNL that negated a big play by UNL and would have been in first and goal...the phantom PI on UNL that extended a drive for OSU...the reversed big catch on 3rd and long for UNL...it was correct in that he didn't secure the ball but on the replay the OSU defender grabbed jersey and tugged the receiver before the catch...but the biggest farce was late in the first half UNL was driving and ran for an obvious first down but the umpire spotted the ball 2 yards short looking at the wrong UNL player for the spot (a lineman)...the ball carrier made the yardage by two yards yet we were spotted a yard short of the sticks...all this as an extra 25 seconds ticked off as UNL thought the clock was stopped for the obvious first down. No review. No explanation. We ended up kicking a FG though. The targeting call on OSU was the correct call BY RULE but I hate the rule.

It’s apparent that UGA football has open NASCAR tryouts around their campus. It might explain their top 5 recruiting since Kerby arrived. Who wouldn’t like to drive 140 MPH in a school zone… only at UGA.

It's time for the NCAA appoint a "Czar" over CFB...to take over the hiring, training and management of officiating. The conferences have done a collective horrible job with this is there is ZERO consistency from league to league and the officials are all at the mercy of the respective league supervisor of officials...who is at the mercy of the commissioners...and it's time to make them full time during the season and pay them accordingly AND stop with the DEI hiring and hire actual qualified people regardless of race, sex, their geographic location, etc. This is a MULTI BILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY that nickels and dimes the officiating aspect. It's been bad for years but I've never seen the level this bad and inconsistent as now.

The SEC officials are still the worst. A billion dollar institution needs to have full/time professional refs. You have to pay them appropriately, and hold them to a standard. It being a part-time gig for insurance salesmen and wing joint owners needs to go away.

If he did not toss his headset, then scratch one flag. Sounds like he deserved the one he got tho.

I called him one for dismissing Nebby's effort after a question from the post game reporter. She said it was a tough hard fought game and Day just went into coach speaking and whining about his lack of a running game was the reason it was close. Or that was my interpretation. Also his little tantrum together with that annoying beard and you have a grade A douche.
