Excellent. I’ll throw some dollars into whatever fund Nebraska has to get him in Lincoln.
He’s uninventive. A coach with a perfunctory mindset. A “jobber”. He’s slow to correct and identify mismatches. Willful and stubborn. He has been a step down from Sark and a huge step down from Kiffin. He has every advantage imaginable at Bama with facilities, support, and personnel, but will run an inside trap against a defense with 8 in the box. Single safety with corners playing weak? Kiffin would sweep or screen that defense to death until they went to a nickel, then would call a run off tackle and do that until the box was packed again. BOB? He will call the play that he had scripted and hope for the best. As a recruiter he’s more, “You wanna come to Bama?” “No? Okay.”
I hope with every fiber of my being that he takes the job. We get the impression that he’s just biding his time until he gets a head coach job. I hope his wish comes true.
