Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.
Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.
If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!
Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

This was the first game where the defense really tanked it, and that was the most discouraging part. It was always going to be pretty difficult to go in there and win with a walkon QB with 18 career pass attempts. Then Pearson-El gets hurt, then our starting RB goes out, and said QB throws 4 INTs...that we managed to score in the 40s despite all that is pretty amazing really. Purdue loaded the box and came after him, as you'd expect them to, and we just couldn't protect him enough.
But defensively we just shit the bed...its impossible to overcome 5 turnovers, but some of those have to be forced into FG attempts instead of TDs. Then later in the game they just cashed it, and let Purdue drive and drive and drive.
A big part of that is too many guys going through the motions, including a co-captain FS who looked all the world like he was throwing the game. He actually elbowed one of our CBs out of the way when running down the sideline with a WR at one point, almost costing us a TD. If he was wearing a black jersey, he'd have been flagged.

That guy needs to sit, along with 2-3 others.
Riley is going to purge out some more leftover Bo holdouts after this season, and then the real character rebuilding will begin. He's got a star QB verbal that will be coming in December, and that'll help. If he doesn't win 8+ in 2016 though, he'll be fighting for his job in 2017.Last edited by Wild Hoss; October 31, 2015, 05:56 PM.

Additionally, that freshman RB of Purdue's was a Parade All American who scored 60 touchdowns his senior year.
Our backup was Imani Cross, a notorious stiff who chose Nebraska at the 11th hour because we were the only program to let him play RB.

Purdue rarely out-talents team. Heroic effort by CMR to keep his band of rejects in the game in front of a hostile crowd of 12,000 at Ross-Ade!Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Nebraska has out-recruited Purdue over the past four-five years, but that is not representative of the talent that was actually on the field. It doesn't make for catchy hyperbole...but them's the facts.
