Btw talent.... Bo remained stubborn in his cover two philosophies. He was going to prove us wrong.

I believe that he was more aggressive than you think.
From the sample of a dozen 2nd half plays I watched last night. Gerry was in the box a few times, in others we had 2-high but with the CB rolled up if there was no wideout to that side. Both are 8-man fronts, just different types. In other situations we showed 2 high, but then blitzed a CB with the safety taking over in Man on that wide, also an eight-man front. We did not have safeties crashing down like @ Wisconsin.
As I have been saying, I don't think the problem is so much how we line up...its how we play after we line up. Especially in how we ?contain? the edge, with the 4th-and-1 TD being a perfect example. Once again we have containment man (The player assigned the outermost gap, to the sideline) compress down, which forces a 180-degree change of direction to run down a ballcarrier going outside. In this instance he also crashed into another player while compressing down, who was coming inside-out from the 2nd level and saw what was happening. We saw it happen a half-dozen times off zone read action with the QB as well; inside fake, contain player bites as compresses, lumberjack goes loping around the edge with the football.
Our edge containment is just stupid, as I have been saying forever. Its similar to the dumb shit we were doing under Cosgrove, with similar results.
I guess I didn't notice as much of that live at the game.. seemed like when I looked/watched, we were still in a cover 2 high with the safeties crashing... I did not tape the game to watch it.
Grammar... The difference between feeling your nuts and feeling you're nuts.

I am going to watch some more tonight and see if the trend I noted was constant. Knowing Bo, it will be.
I will note that, as I stated above, having two safeties up top doesn't mean its Cover 2. I think that alignment is Aaron's "whipping boy" as he was clearly an odd-coverage guy.
