If Hoke has a brain in his head, he will do one of two things with Gardner next season.

1. Shake his hand, and bid him well as he departs the team, WITHOUT the offer of a 5th year scholarship.

2. If Hoke decides to bring back Gardner, move him back to WR, and let Shane Morris begin his career as Michigan's QB. Whatever happens, .. happens. Morris needs to get started, and Gardner needs to get OUT of the QB spot.

That really doesn't sit right. That's a terrible thing to say after the kid just stood in there and took every damn hit in the book. He's only the QB. He can't coach the OL and call the plays too. He's executing the offense has can only trust his coaches' wisdom on the nature of that offense. He's a five-star who has come in and shown what he's capable of. Tossing him out because the coaches couldn't figure out how to mold this particular type of high-grade clay might be something Nick Saban would do. If Michigan did it, that would be exceptionally disappointing, in particular if they allowed Borges to continue steal three quarters of a million dollars annually to ruin prospects. Instead of expecting the third time to be the charm for Borges successfully developing a QB, I'd rather not risk that he ruins a third consecutive QB. Get him the fuck away from Morris ASAP, IMO. Nobody owes Gardner the starting spot next year, but he deserves to compete for it like every other QB on the roster.
