Ultimately, a Michigan staffer got the flag back.
I suspect that travelling Michigan teams in the future will not be allowed to carry a M flag with them.
That edict will come from the athletic department."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"

The flags belong to the M band and dance team. Should they be punished by barring all flags when M travels? No!Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

I never suggested that the band not be allowed to carry M flags to road games.
My statement was that the team itself should not carry M flags with them. Not on the plane, and not in the equipment truck.
Do you really think that M is not going to self-punish itself here, Jeff? You know how these people think.
The band is not allowed on the field at road games except for pre-game and halftime performances. I don't think yesterday's flag came from the band area. I read in an ohio newspaper that "Fred Moore" a coach from Michigan brought out the flag. There is no Fred Moore on Michigan's staff, but maybe they thought it was Fred Jackson? Do they mean 80 year old something Fred Jackson from Flint?
Ye gads .. Fred was probably trying to find the exit, much less carrying a flag out there."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"

Frederick Moore is a Michigan 4* WR that was part of the 2022 recruiting class. He played in multiple games in 2023 but hasn't played much in 2024 due to unexplained injury. He was on the sideline during the game and he's the Michigan player that took the M flag to mid-field. I think there are at least 3 Moores in the M football program including Sherrone - easy to confuse them.
I can't speak to whether or not the team brings a M flag to the game as part of their equipment. The only flags I've seen belong to the band and dance team.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. Okay, .. I get it now. Fred Moore is a player. Got it.
I knew it couldn't be Fred Jackson. That guy was coaching HS ball at Flint Southwestern when I was in HS back in the 70's. He wasn't carrying any flag out onto any field, anywhere.
And I am 100% positive that both the NCAA and B1G is going to come after Michigan real hard over this. Fines, player suspensions, .. get ready for it. Our bowl roster is going to look like Ann Arbor Pioneer's roster by time the dust settles on this."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, ..
