UFM would be an instant fix. He's batshit crazy, but he knows how to build a college program really fast. Lane would be a great hire, too, but Ole Miss is a better job, I think. Or at least it's not materially different and they Ole Miss boosters would probably pay a lot to keep Lane.
With the transfer portal, man---you can really build fast if you have an attractive product. The teams that recruit off the charts can't horde the talent as much. Bad teams can get better quick. I think Arky State had a couple kids who were legit good -- and they were portal kids.
So, the chance to build fast is there, but I'm not sure UNL can do it. In fact, I'd bet against it.

The corn people would be a terrible fit for ufm..... sort of like RR and his wife rubbing shoulders with Ann Arbor's elites. A disaster. Besides, there is no way he's going to fucking Lincoln. He's OK, but Nebraska needs a recruiter. Moving to the Big Ten was great for revenue but terrible for recruiting. Campbell would suffer there, his record is fairly mediocre. Sure Iowa State is not a football power, but he has proven he can take a bad program and make it decent. If Nebraska wants to get back to a facsimile of their glory years they need a bigger swing than Matt Campbell.Comment

If they want a recruiter, they would benefit from hiring a guy from Texas, or a guy who can recruit Texas really well. That's probably a better prospect for them than trying to pull guys from the B1G footprint.
