I don't know what is in Frost's heart, but your AD should be outside his house like John Cusack with the boom box in Say Anything. I find it hard to believe that the guy who won two bowl games and half of a national championship as the starting QB does not have any sentimetnal attachment to his old school. And you guys can compete financially with anyone in the country.
Circling back to this....apparently our new AD did a spot with a notorious anti-Riley radio personality in Omaha, and spent the segment shining on Scott. So he's either confident that Frost is in the bag, or he's just basically bet his life on landing him. Because if he doesn't, that dude going Hoffa.
Jokes aside, there are certainly some parallels here with our situation. I have no idea how similar they are, JH and SF, but for years here we assumed that JH would never come back to Ann Arbor whereas it turns out that's what he wanted all along, and just had to wait for Michigan to stop shooting itself in the foot. Coaches in this position to have to play their cards close. Love for alma mater doesn't make you a non-profit entity.
(Painful to think what could have been if there were adults in charge of Michigan's athletic department in 2010.)
...I can just imagine what was going through those mixed up coaches...sitting at home with their ballot...all ready to cast a convincing vote for M who just skated by an average WSU team who wasn't given a last play...but then...out of the blue...that heart wrenching speech by a 22 year old kid...whoa...now that changes my mind...I'm switching my vote!
Of course it wasn't the ass kicking UNL laid on the #3 team in the country or anything...nooooo
we have a winner...
Grammar... The difference between feeling your nuts and feeling you're nuts.

NU and Mich have definitely shared some parallels over the past ten years or so. ent and I have discussed it a few times.

The results of Harbaugh's first 34 games at Michigan has made those hypotheticals less torturous to think about.
