Grammar... The difference between feeling your nuts and feeling you're nuts.

    • Speaking of refs, have they all been instructed to not flag the "shushing" gesture anymore as unsportsmanlike conduct? I am seeing one of those in almost every game and I haven't seen a flag thrown yet.

      • Hopefully.

        • Quick hits, news and notes from Nebraska’s Wednesday practice.

          — Nebraska senior tight end Carter practiced Wednesday once again. Offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf said the tight end has looked good in practice as he returns from an elbow injury. “It’s good to see him out there and it’s nice to have him back,” Langsdorf said. “So far, so good, we’ll see tomorrow.”

          — Langsdorf said Carter’s presence “takes heat off other guys” in Nebraska’s offense. He said Carter is also a physical presence on the edge in the running game as well.

          — Langsdorf said Ohio State is deep along its defensive line. He said the Buckeyes also have the best secondary Nebraska has faced so far this year.

          — Offensive tackle David Knevel didn’t practice again on Wednesday.

          — Langsdorf said the key to containing Nick Bosa is to have some help from a running back to chip, if necessary. Langsdorf said keeping Tommy Armstrong protected will be key for the Husker offense because Ohio State does play a lot of 1-on-1 with its corners, which leaves the deep ball as an option.

          — Nebraska once again has been practicing with noise this week in preparation for Ohio State. Langsdorf said he liked the way his team handled the noise against Wisconsin.

          — With running back Devine Ozigbo starting to feel better, Langsdorf said it’s likely that Nebraska will turn to the sophomore back a bit more this week.

                • Seems like some folks have read my weekly prognostications. Commendable.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
                  Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

                  • Lol. Was way ahead of you on that game. Not rocket science.

                    • I cannot envision NU scoring 17 points.

                        • Yep.

Our OL is an utter wreck; we will likely be playing 4 walkons at some point during the game. Our QB plays "spin-the-wheel" of route-reading, and is gimped-up as so his running ability is halved. We only have one back who can outrun the average linebacker.

We barely managed 17 @Wisconsin, who was missing 2 of their better frontal players at the time and supposedly doesn't have half the secondary talent that Ohio State does. I don't really see how we will replicate that tomorrow.

                          • Armstrong always seems to connect on at least a couple deep balls a game. Thinking 31-23ish.

If your memory of him stems from the Michigan State game of last year- when MSU played a ton of 0 coverage and we had a better OL- than I could understand this thinking. But its anecdotal, and doesn't apply now.

In conference play he has connected on only 2 passes of over 50 yards in 140 attempts.

One was a 20-yard Curl against Purdue, where the WR broke free and ran for 50 yards. The other was legit Tommy Bomb against NW.

The longest completion against ILL was a 37-yard screen to a RB.

The longest completion against IN was a slant that broke for 40.

The longest completion against WI was 36 yards with 20 yards of YAC.

I'd anticipate some long throws...but not that Nebraska will be catching them for touchdowns, if catching them at all.

                              • Well, here we go. Just want to get out of this one healthy...the next three games are more important than this one.

More than happy to see Wisco get their brains beat in by Michigan in the CCG anyway. I'd rather win out in November and go to the Cotton Bowl, maybe finish in the Top 10.

Kudos to Talent's alma mater for the Foltz tributes also.
