I was pissed when I left the stadium, but on relfection...it just is what it is.

We can't run, and can't defend the pass; consequently we cannot close people out, despite herculean effort for the first 59 minutes. Its not going to change this year, so I suspect we're looking at 4-8, maybe 5-7.

The staff is having some issues, but its about 70/30 talent/coaching IMO, maybe 80/20. We don't have a RB who can make a simple IZ read worth half a shit, our QB play is woeful, and our DBs are just awful. DT, once the strength of the team, is beat to shit, and at various points late this game we were playing walkons at both DE spots, MLB and SAM.

Its a near-miracle that we had a chance to win this game at all.

Your talent level has been dropping every year imo and is quite similar to the rest of the B1G West; Iowa, Minnesota, NW, Wisky. You do have some good talent but you don't have near the depth you need or usually have.

Indeed. The talent we do have is concentrated within a few position groups as so the average looks better than it actually is as-applied. Its going to take some work and development to get this rectified.

My primary concern is that the staff didn't have an appreciation for the talent situation, or maybe overestimated their ability to coach through it. The future of our QB position rides on one kid for instance, and while he looks Elway-like, its still one kid. We've been through that song-and-dance before.

Looking at the numbers the class isn't so hot, but that's about as far into as I go. I did ask some people who are more dialed in, and they seemed pretty happy. A good number of our 3* verbals are turning heads in their senior seasons, so maybe these guys really can spot Cinderella.

Hell, maybe we can even get Terry Wilson back from Oregon...or get Scott Frost at Clearance prices, LOL.
