I'm pretty sure Iowa is ineligible due to Ferenz, but I could be wrong.

Oh.. I actually find talent entertaining. Full of it, but entertaining. For years he claimed OSU greatness, but he had no idea what greatness looked like. Now he does. And now he understands. He's just taking it to a new level now that Michigan fans won't play with him.
as for the edge.. I'm not sure. I'm holding back strong opinions about UNL. I know we didn't get the guy to bring us back to the top, but I am hoping for a caretaker who would get the program back on tracks and a couple steps forward. I'm not a WCO fan.. which adds to my problems.
But every coach needs a couple of yrs and their recruits. We will see.
And for Hoss... That doesn't mean I will stop my donations or stop being a fan... As for the WCO.. We all have preferences.Last edited by entropy; September 10, 2015, 10:17 PM.Grammar... The difference between feeling your nuts and feeling you're nuts.

Well.. I won't have strong opinions for years on Riley either. Coaches deserve their shot. So while I've been asked all day about my opinions on Riley, I've been consistent in response... Too early to tell.. Worried about the running game. It would seem you are extremely worried about me not having strong opinions of him yet....
You don't need to be Riley's little protector...

It's nice to have a Nebraska thread where its content resonates with Michigan fans ........ years of success, long past, followed by a decade of hope dashed.
I appreciate your reservations about Riley. I have those about the Harbaugh regime. It's going to take time and I'm sick of that refrain.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. As your kids get older priorities in life change. Nebraska football hasn't been the same to me in years... Losses have hurt less and I am not as involved. I used to know the 2 deep for example... Last few hrs, not a chance.
That said.... The BYU loss stung. Maybe it was hope or the way it ended but old feelings came back. I think that is good.
But yes... I've said it often.. UNL and Michigan have a lot in common

You are not crazy, it's likely phantom limb sensation.
A phantom limb is the sensation that an amputated or missing limb (even an organ, like the appendix) is still attached to the body and is moving appropriately with other body parts. Approximately 60 to 80% of individuals with an amputation experience phantom sensations in their amputated limb, and the majority of the sensations are painful.[4] Phantom sensations may also occur after the removal of body parts other than the limbs, e.g. after amputation of the breast, extraction of a tooth (phantom tooth pain) or removal of an eye (phantom eye syndrome). The missing limb often feels shorter and may feel as if it is in a distorted and painful position. Occasionally, the pain can be made worse by stress, anxiety, and weather changes. Phantom limb pain is usually intermittent. The frequency and intensity of attacks usually declines with time."Whole milk, not the candy-ass 2-percent or skim milk."

We needed a seasoned head coach, a guy who was going to repair the PR damage Pelini had inflicted, modernize the programs operations, and one who was willing to step into the circus that Nebraska football has become. (Additionally, one who was used to operating at a recruiting/demographic disadvantage would be a plus IMO) The candidate pool wasn't all that deep given these criteria, but I think we got a pretty good one all things considered...Riley checks all of those boxes.
I am under no illusion that we're going to win a national title with Mike Riley, and I do not believe the Nebraska administration thinks so either. But we don't have an Urban Meyer or Jim Harbaugh lying around to move us to the front of the line; we're going to have to work our way up. And that's fine by me. This program suffers enough from delusions of grandeur and magical coaching elixirs; it needs to see some work and strife again.
Mike Riley is here to right the ship and repair the brand, putting NU in a position where the next hire is the one we make with the intention of going for No. 1. Mike is the guy who sets us up for The Guy. JMO
