Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
I love(ed) Faux Pellini. Too bad he's closed up shop (maybe). This is the best one:
OK, good luck I guess. If you have questions call me at 1-800-IM-GETTING-SEVEN-MILLION-DOLLARS-TO-NOT-WORK-SO-FIGURE-IT-OUT-YOURSELF-SUCKA.

Mike Riley is a good guy to everyone, he's competent. That's why the national media thinks highly of him but he doesn't move the needle for Nebraska. It is just a weird hire, it didn't seem obvious last week the Pelini was going to be fired. That's not the type of replacement I'd make.
I will be surprised if he has a better record than Bo.

Riley played for Bryant. His uncle, Hayden, was a basketball and baseball coach at Bama and was an unofficial golf coach, too. Riley is also related to a great Bama RB, Major Ogilvie.
I've met him twice. Very nice guy, and a good coach. Oregon State is tough to win at. I'm sure Callahan, uh, I mean Riley will do fine.

Riley needs to bring in a good defensive staff, and in particular a DC with a name, to help him out on the PR front. I already like the fact that STs has its own coach in his system, and we have lucked out in that his top QB target from the 2014 recruiting class was Johnny Stanton...currently a redshirt freshman on our team.
And he plans to start recruiting today, a good month earlier than Bo Pelini did when he was hired and let a potential Top 10 recruiting class dry up and blow away. Fucking halfwit.
When was the last time a coach with Bo's record was fired, especially after he won his final game of the season and before a bowl game? (Woody Hayes doesn't count he was fired for striking an opponent's player as he LOST a bowl game)

Did Solich get canned after winning the final game of the season but before his bowl game?
Did Earl Bruce coach in a bowl game after he was fired before the UM/OSU game?
Solich beat Colorado, got fired, and Pelini (ironically) won their bowl game against MSU. Final record: 10-3
OSU didn't play in a bowl game that year. We were only 6-4-1 and that was back before any team that finished .500 or better got to play in a 'hooray you're a winner too!" bowl games.
I watched some of the Arizona-Oregon game last night. The TV shots of RichRod's frustration were so familiar to me. The only thing missing was the block "M" on his cap.
