Those rallying around Bo, including the players (Stockholm Syndrome) remind me of Rich Rod's days of fading support ...... gee, they remind me of Hoke too.

Hoss you sound exactly like me talking about the Michigan players and coaches. Makes sense I suppose since UNL looks just like a RichRod Michigan team. The only difference for us is the players didn't bitch and moan as much as they do now that Brady Hoke convinced them they are are god's gift to 5-win football teams.

Ent and I talked about this. We are a bully program, one that accurately represents it coach. A program that pushes smaller people around with faux bravado, but crumbles when hit hard. Top to bottom.

I don’t know how else to describe it. A program that takes the kind of beatings that we do three times a year should be losing more games than we do. Substantially more. When you give up 587 yards and eight rushing touchdowns to somebody, even a great rushing team, you should be losing some games to the likes of Miami, Rutgers, or even at Northwestern.

There is something about playing teams of a certain skill level or toughness that makes Pelini’s teams lose structural integrity, turn into jello, and get beat worse than teams we have defeated along the way would in the same situation. That’s why we’re in Bogatory, and that’s why the crazy, X-number-of-consecutive-9-win seasons-thing makes us stand out. We generally look about as good as we should for our talent, with the fibrillations that occur most everywhere...trending more in our favor than average. But when faced with adversity we look like utter shit, and this kind of crazy, 408-yard-day stuff happens to us.

Rich-Rod tried that sort of thing with newbie QB Tate Forcier (remember him) when he was competing with Denard for the starting QB spot. Took the wings off his helmet (silly actually).

Made no difference. Tate had talent, not as much as he thought he did. The worst part was that he was a punk groomed to be one by his father. WHen things didn't go his way, he'd pout and cry.

I think Neb's and M's players have some of that problem. They think they are way better than they are. That speaks to the cultures of these two programs where, I think anyway, similarities abound. Past glories from the had work of others and an unwillingness to work for it on the part of a bunch of spoiled current players. Then they whine about fan or press criticism when they get pounded by other lesser players who are tougher mentally and physically. Or hide in the blanket catch phrase of adversity and speak to all they have been through. BS. You got beat, man up, grow a pair.

I hope the pinkshirts show up again this week. It'd be nice to see the Goofer cement their dubious top 25 ranking. However, I expect Bo's boys to play hard AND smart this week and execute his gameplan. Bitch Leidner is even less of a threat to pass than Stave, so I can't imagine UNL not making a concerted effort to take away Cobb. The only other decent offensive player they have is Maxx Williams, and he's a f'n TE. So, I guess UNL either shuts out the Goofer or Cobb rushes for 300 yards and ol' Maxx grabs 2 TDs in a 42-17 pasting.

Incidentally, is that Armstrong kid really that poopy? He looked positively Hoosier 5th String-esque in Madison.
