I'd like to see the B10 drop its NCAA tourney bid and play baseball in the summer. B10 teams currently play about twenty or more away games in the south before their first home game.
Talked to a alumni of UCLA and we were talking baseball and I brought up the point about moving the baseball season later in the season. He liked the idea but for a very different reason. Pac 12 Network very much like the BTN has little-to-no quality content in the summer and he feels these BTN, Pac 12, SEC and ACC Networks are going to want college baseball as content on their networks that aren't competing with college basketball...
Summer baseball with the support of the ACC, SEC and Pac 12 suddenly is very likely possibility if those conferences can profit from it, which they would do when the baseball season isn't overshadowed by college basketball. Much like B10 hockey, it won't be a huge revenue maker but the sport potentially could pay for it self like B10 hockey does...
I have minimal interest in B10 baseball but would if some major changes happened in the sport. You might lose student tickets sales going to these games but the TV revenue and better weather, more than offset the students not attending the games.
