beebe is still a shit head. He keeps talking about Nebraska in Texas and KC radio. I think he knows he lost something significant but doesn't have the maturity to handle.

OOC schedule: Nobody wants to play NU
One topic that attracts about as much misinformation among Husker fans as any I encounter is Nebraska’s non-conference basketball scheduling.
Oh, to have a dollar for every time I’ve heard someone say, “Why don’t they just call some good teams and sign a deal?”
If only it were that easy.
Since the end of last season, Nebraska assistant coach Chris Croft, who has the unenviable job of working on the schedule, has called every BCS school in the country.
And the grand total that have responded yes?
Zero.
You can look it up, said Marc Boehm, Nebraska’s executive associate athletic director.
Boehm said three schools — one each from the ACC, SEC and Pac-12 — are “50-50” at the moment in agreeing to a home and home basketball series. (So much for those Big 12 schools being interested).
Why do the better schools shy away from scheduling Nebraska? There are multiple reasons:
- Schools schedule non-conference road games in areas in which they recruit. Why waste a trip with no prospects to see? And if you haven’t noticed, the state of Nebraska has been in a prep-talent dry spell the past 15 years. Last year, only three Nebraskans – (Lincoln’s Matt Hill, Texas; Chadron’s Elliott Eliason, Minnesota; Ravenna’s Drake Beranek, Nebraska) were on a BCS roster.
- Schools don’t like nonconference games against strong defensive opponents. Coaches hate to get caught lollygagging on a road trip against a junkyard dog defense. NU has been among the national leaders in field-goal defense since coach Doc Sadler arrived.
- Nebraska’s sparse success in basketball means a win over the Huskers loses some luster in the national perspective while a loss is considered damaging.
“With that said,’’ Boehm said, “we think we’ve improved the schedule a great deal with the RPI.’’
There are 345 schools that play Division I basketball. Last season, Nebraska played six games against schools with an RPI of 271 or worse (271, 289, 316, 317, 326, 337).
“We’re trying to get rid of all the 300s,’’ Boehm said. “There’s a range from about 100 to the mid-200s that we want to play in.’’
The final schedule won’t be finished until August, which is when the Big Ten schedule is finalized.
Getting rid of the 300-RPIers is an improvement. But don’t expect much more in the way of name opponents until Nebraska breaks it’s 13-year NCAA tourney drought.
And in the meantime, be really nice to Croft. The poor guy has been turned down more times than a bedsheet.Grammar... The difference between feeling your nuts and feeling you're nuts.

Creighton's the only other D-1 team in Nebraska, right? I can see why the Huskerz would have some problems. There are so many hoops programs, especially in the east...I don't see what incentive there is for a team like Georgetown or Kentucky to make the trip to Lincoln. There's like 200 programs east of the Mississippi and probably half are better than Nebraska

Also.. It seems the water table has risen enough in Omaha that parking lots are flooding due to water pushing through the cracks. Should make for an interesting CWSGrammar... The difference between feeling your nuts and feeling you're nuts.
