  • Nebraska did everything that they could to beat themselves this year. Punt receiving was as bad as Michigan 2008, and they committed lots of dumb penalties. .

    • I think we ended up 94th or 95th in turnover margin. That is really really bad

and Special teams were an easy F this year. Fumbles, bad punts... it at least cost UNL one game. And almost cost them the NW game.

          • Bret Bielema was the bearer of a very positive injury report Monday leading into this weekend's Big Ten Conference football championship game.

Leading receiver Jared Abbrederis and starting right guard Kyle Costigan are expected to return to practice in non-contact situations Tuesday and play against Nebraska despite suffering head injuries against Penn State, the University of Wisconsin football coach said.

Also, middle linebacker Chris Borland — who has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury — is forecast to take some snaps Tuesday with the scout team and rejoin the No. 1 defense later in the week.

Bielema also noted that Wisconsin will have the services of three key defensive contributors who didn't play in the 30-27 regular-season loss at Nebraska on Sept. 27: Defensive linemen Brendan Kelly and Pat Muldoon, and safety Shelton Johnson.

LINCOLN — If Husker fans regard Pasadena as a big red rose, some apparently view Indianapolis more like a carnation.

Demand for tickets and travel packages to see the Huskers’ first appearance in a Big Ten championship game appears weaker than expected, according to a University of Nebraska-Lincoln official, a ticket broker and a travel agent.

The NU athletic ticket office had sold about half its allotment of 15,000 tickets as of Monday, more than three days after they went on sale. Any of the 7,500 remaining tickets unsold by 11 a.m. Wednesday will be returned to Ticketmaster, said Holly Adam, assistant athletic director for ticketing.

“I’d say it’s a little bit slower than for a Big 12 championship game,” Adam said.

                • Travel for UNL is more expensive in the BIG vs the BIG12. I think UNL will show up fine, but I think people are learning you can get better tickets outside of UNL than through them.

                  • Remember when expansion was announced and the conference championship was universally accepted as a game that would sell out instantly every single year?

                    • When there are better teams playing in it, attendance will increase. The Big 12 CCG attendance figures varied wildy, and frankly they were quite lucky that it was being held in Texas a couple times when the North Division champ was suck-ass Colorado else it would have looked like a MAC game. On other occasions (NU v Texas in Dallas, KSU v OU in Kansas City) tickets were very difficult to find.

                      #14 v unranked doesn't inspire much passion.

This. We learned that lesson bigtime in Chicago earlier this year.

I also think many Husker fans are banking (prematurely) on a trip to Pasadena instead.

                          • Black Friday game.... a tradition at UNL for decades..

Same McKewon (of the OWH) says this game will be played on Saturday next year. Said Iowa doesn’t like the short week. He went on to say NU will likely look for a different opponent in 2014 if they want a Friday game. He said NU likes the Friday game.

                            • Or buy season tickets with Northwestern for $99 or something.

The CCG will be sold out next season, and likely a tough ticket.

                              • I wouldn't mind seeing it moved to saturday; better opportunities for me to attend or watch.

Nobody cares about Nebraska v Iowa anyway.
